I have a 2015 Ford Escape, 32,000 miles, 1.6 liter, and the service engine soon light is on. Has new air filter and oil and filter changes?
Were done in Jan 2019. I've only put 1,000 miles on the car since then. The car starts and runs fine. The light came on a few months ago but after 3-4 driving cycles, the light turned off, now its back on again and I haven't done the 3-4 cycles again yet to see if the light goes out. The crankcase is full of oil.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Added (1). For 'champer', Prior to the oil being changed, the "change engine oil" light was on. After the oil change, the "change engine oil" light was off and has remained off. So I'm assuming the shop that did the oil change turned this light off. The light that is currently on is "service engine soon" light. It's a symbol on the dash that is illuminated.
Added (2). This isn't a check engine light. It's an illuminated symbol on the dash. I had to look in my owners manual to see what it meant.
Added (3). Had the car scanned for codes, has code P26B7… Coolant bypass valve. Car is not 5 years old and has 32,000 miles. Should manufacturers warranty cover this?
