I want a new car so bad what should I do?

Ok I have a problem I know! I have a 2017 Ford Escape base model. Nothing wrong with it i got it 2 years ago and it barely has 21 thousand miles. But I see fancy cars newer cars and financially I'm making bank compared to 2 years ago. I really want to trade but I know it's bad as my loan was terrible and I financed basically 30k for a car worth then only 18k and I still owe 15k and now it's worth 10k. Advice please!

What car is good for potholes?

I know this is an odd question but I need a car better suited for potholes. I currently drive a base model 2017 Ford Escape with steel wheels. I don't particularly love the car but I refuse to get better rims because my city has god awful roads. My issue is I love to drive an explore states and my old car a 2010 Ford Focus i busted 3 tires and a strut on potholes. Among other things that's a reason I got the Escape. The Escape does good as I've unintentially hit some big holes but it's basacly a tall car. But I'm thinking a serious off roader like a Jeep Wrangler would handle rough roads better since it's made for off road. What do you think?

Can alternator problems be intermittent?

Last question about this before I bite the bullet and pay several hundred dollar to get it fixed. I thought that an alternator either worked or it didn't. I have a 2004 ford escape and although my battery light stays on most of the time, it gets me from a to b without issue 99 percent of the time. Twice in 2 weeks, though, my alternator stopped charging and I broke down. I've tested multiple times and the alternator was charging, but both times I broke down it wasn't charging and I was running off battery only. Does this sound like normal behavior or does it sound more like a bad connection somewhere? The connection to the battery is clean and tight, but the alternator is so hard to get to that I can't really tell if all else is good.

Headlight socket wire is wrapped around something?

I went to change my low beams 2015 Ford Escape, the connecter that's attactched to the car with the wires (not sure of the proper term) seems to be wrapped around something. I finally was able to grab the socket and pull it out but it's not enough to where I can attach my bulb into it. It's too short. So I'm thinking the wire got wrapped around something like got pushed down somehow. How can I fix this?
