Detailing an engine bay covering parts?

I have a small auto detailing business and I want to start offering detailing the engine bay. I've strayed away from it because it makes me nervous. Today I want to test it on my car, a 2001 Ford Escape XLT V6 3.0L. My dad always told me to make sure to cover the alternator and battery before spraying chemicals and water into the engine bay. I can cover the battery but the alternator is impossible to get to without jacking the car up and taking the rotar off. Is it ok if it gets a bit wet? I'll be using an electric 1800psi pressure washer and some gunk engine degreaser from auto zone. There's a bunch of videos and some say never to spray water in the engine, some say only use a garden hose, some say **** it, cover the battery, spray degreaser on it and spray it down. I'm getting mixed messages.

Which vehicle should I upgrade to?

I'm on the market for a vehicle but not super new. I've been trying to decide on whether or not to purchase one pf these 3 vehicles but I can't properly decide. They are all 2004 models… The Chevy 4 door Blazer, The Ford Escape, and the Nissan Pathfinder.

in a vehicle I look for dependability, good gas consumption, a small to mid size suv, a good history for not messing up so easy… I do understand that because they are older gens that it makes them more prone. But between the 3 listed which is the best choice and why

Toyota Rav-4 or Corolla?

I'm currently driving a 2016 Ford Escape base model. It's bare bones of course and has no tech. I recently paid it off and I know I probably shouldn't jump right back into a car loan but this car is sooo boring. I must note nothing is wrong with my car it's been so reliable. I know neither of these cars are cool but I'm totally in love with the 2019 versions of both of these cars. Full of tech and safety features. All I have is a backup camera and Bluetooth lol. Is it hard to go from a small CUV to a car? The corolla is cheaper and that's only why I'm considering it. Or should I just keep my car longer?

Help me out with this noise my car is making?

I have a 2010 Ford Escape 2.5L and it's making this ringing noise from the engine. I took the belt off thinking it was a pulley and it still makes it. Wondering if anyone would be familiar with this noise. It has around 80k miles on it. And besides the noise it runs fine.

Alternator and battery tested good, but Ford Escape won't crank?

I have a 2004 Ford Escape that has had the battery warning light on the dash for about a month. I took it to auto zone and the battery and alternator tested good. Today I'm out and it won't turn over and has no power. The battery terminals are clean and the connections look good. Any idea what might be going on here?
