07 Ford Escape battery light comes on and goes off while I'm driving?
My mechanic said that the alternator and battery both look good. He said there are no loose wires and alternator belt is fine. Has anyone else had this experience? What could be the problem. I no longer feel confident to drive it.
Clean and tighten the battery cables. Check the charging system fuse.
The alternator is starting to fail. I'd bet you'll have complete failure in the next few months as winter sets in.
Hi so a new battery would be the best idea as winter is so close. As temperature effects the battery voltage when it gets cold.
"Both look good"? Or both test good? An alternator can start to have intermittent problems when that old and replacing the alternator is likely the cure.
- What Ford vehicles with a 302 motor comes with a 4 barrel carb (and only comes 302 with a 4bc)? I have a 1989 mustang gt motor and I'm making it carbureted and I'm looking for any vehicle with a 302 that carries a 4b. I'm going to a junkyard where they don't help with finding vehicles, so it would be helpful to know what vehicles only have a 302 with a 4bc, that way I can look it up on the website and know exactly where its at.
- My car shakes while at idle and while driving? I have a 2001 Ford Escort Sedan… My aunt and I have literally tried everything except a new engine and a new transmission… Everything else is new and was all flushed and blown out and it's still shaking while idling AND driving! We're clueless! We don't know what else to do! Could it be the car slowly breaking down for good?
