Ford Explorer: Will Explore Even the Toughest Place

As appears from its name, the Ford Explorer is aimed at exploring different places including those hard to access. The automobile will easily cope with this task since it is a full-size crossover available in either full-time all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive.

The Ford Explorer exploits floating roof design similar to that of the Land Rover.

The 5th generation Ford Explorer is overwhelmed with such cutting-edged features as:

  • remote engine start;
  • intelligent access (plus push button start);
  • power adjustable pedals that have their own memory;
  • a DVD entertainment system;
  • active park assist;
  • adaptive cruise control;
  • cooled & heated front seats;
  • a number of high technologies (MyFord Touch, SIRIUS Travel Link), etc.

The Ford Explorer is powered by one of the following engines:

  • 3.5 L V6 (290 hp) paired with either the six-speed 6FSelectShift automatic or simply the six-speed 6F automatic;
  • 2 L EcoBoost I-4 (237 hp) working in pair with the six-speed 6F automatic.

EcoBoost is the company’s proprietary technology aimed at increasing fuel economy.
