It is buried behind the dashboard so that needs to come out to get anywhere close to it. If you DIY it expect it to take a few days.
Take the old one out and out the new one in. If you need more instructions then the job is to far beyond what you are capable of doing, so have it done for you. In a 2012 it is very unlikely the heater core would need to be replaced.
