I own a 2015 Ford Escape with 30,000 miles and runs good. My prior vehicle had over 150,000 miles and I used Gumout Regane high mileage fuel?
System cleaner. I still have a bottle of the Gumout and wondering if I used it in the Escape, would the Gumout do any harm to it?
I suppose I could wait until I get 75,000 miles on it before using but I'm a 3000-4000 miles a year driver and the Gumout would go bad before using it.
They are all snake oils. A properly tuned fuel injected engine without a check engine light is running FINE and does not need anything. Stop wasting your money.
Most car manufacturers do not recommend you use fuel additives. Most cars will go 150,000 miles anyway, without special additives. I would suggest you not use the Gumout and just do what Ford recommends for the car.
Throw it away. It never worked on your old vehicle and it never works on any vehicle. These chemicals are for gullible drivers who lack mechanical knowledge.
This is a case of " If it aint broke, don't fix it".
Why? It won't help at ALL
My Ford Ranger had almost 300,000 miles on it and still running strong when I gave it to my grandson. I never wasted any money on fuel additives because I never thought I needed them. Modern fuels are so clean that I think you are wasting your money if you buy additives. I will take that back if you are going to store a vehicle for some time when a fuel stabilizer is probably a good idea. But other than for long term storage, no, I would not use any fuel additives.
- What brand of vehicle last a little over 200,000 miles? I'm looking to buy a vehicle and I would like to know what brand of vehicle last over 200,000 miless (nissan, chevy, ford) etc. Also I would like to know how many miles is too high when looking to buy a used vehicle.
- After driving Ford Ranger, high mileage, 10 miles and at normal operating temp, I park overnight on level concrete floor. I check oil level? Next day before starting and when I pull dipstick out, oil level is at full mark. I wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert and check oil level again, the oil level is down about 1/8th inch or so. I check it once more and get same reading. Is the crankcase full or do I need to add some oil? Just to be clear, since this is an older Ranger with over 170,000 miles, I use high mileage oil and I check the oil level regularly. It doesn't use oil after just 10 miles of driving.
- What's a good price fr a 2015 Ford Mustang with 5,000 miles on it? I found one I'm interested in but the dealership is selling it for full retail of 23,851. How much can I negotiate that down? Appreciate it!
- Is High Mileage on a Used Car a Bad Thing? I'm looking into buying a used 1989 Ford Mustang for $3,195. The mileage on it is 89000. I'm not sure if the mileage is a bad thing or if it should affect my purchase.
