My 2008 Ford Escape front brake locked up after changing the car battery, driving the car down the road the front left tire brake smoking?
The emergency break doesn't seem to be on. Any suggestions
When the wheel is locked remove it and crack the Bleeder screw on the Caliper. If it releases the wheel, the Brake Hose is bad. If it doesn't the Caliper is bad.
Did you do something to pinch a BRAKE line when you installed the new battery?
The "emergency" BRAKE only works on the REAR wheels. It has no effect on the FRONT brakes.
The emergency brakes only are in the rear.
If the front brake is locking up you have a bad caliper.
Replace the rubber hose to the caliper when replacing the caliper and putting pads and rotors in the front.
ID see how battery affected it, unless you somehow damaged an ABS cable. Try unplugging sensor from LF, If you have it (I go far. Making an assumption,) If that don't fix it, do as Geo Metro sez; crack the bleeder, isolate problem.
You Don't need to replace rotor or pads or caliper, necessarily. Until it is Looked At. No one here has a crystal ball. Might have caught all in time.

- Ford 300 starts smoking from oil cap after 1 minute of runtime and radiator smells like a wet fire pit? It was running fine then it started acting hard to start off and smoking a little so I figured oil. Put some more in and it straightened up for a mile or so then started acting up worse. It began to have a knocking noise like an old diesel tractor. I don't understand what it is because it starts up just fine but won't run for more than a minute before it starts pudding and knocking. Also there are tiny pieces of rust chunks in the radiator and it smells like a wet fire pit.
- Train left front tire meaning? My Ford Expedition left front tire got this message as started it tonite. It said "Train Left Front tire" What does this mean?
