2001 Ford Mustang brake light don't work when I push down on brake pedal?
So my 2001 mustang won't shift out of park because of brake lights. When I push the brake pedal the lights don't come on but when I push the brake switch up with my hands Manualy the brake lights come on? Any ideas why the switch is not working when I push the brakes and lights come on when I push it by hand?
The switch may be broken. Replace it and take a chance that it will fix it. Make sure to adjust it properly.
I suggest buying new lights or a new sensor
- BRAKE light in my '02 ford ranger blinks on and off sometimes. Brake is disengaged. Any thoughts? The BRAKE light in my '02 ford ranger blinks on and off sometimes. Brake is disengaged… Any thoughts?
- How to fix brake pedal without bleeding brakes? A car got in my lane so I pushed on the brake hard, now my brake pedal goes super low. I've done it before and a mechanic friend reversed and accelerated in my driveway, this fixed the brake going low problem (my brakes were super firm). I do not remember exactly what he did though and he's not available. My brake pads also still have half their lives. My brake fluid is also full and still has its light color. My car is a 2009 Ford Fusion Sel. What do I do?
- Let the master cylinder run dry and now the brake pedal goes to the floor when I turn the car on. Is air still in the system? I pulled the car out of storage and i noteced the left front caliper was leaking so I replaced the caliper. The only problem was the master cylinder ran dry. I bleed the brakes three times. I did not see any air in the lines after I bleed them a third time. When the car is off the brake pedal gets rock hard when the pedal ia depressed about half way. With the car on the brake pedal goes to the floor. Would this be cause by air in the system? The car is a 03 ford focus.
- In drive I push down on the gas pedal but the car won't move. It will then jump and drive normally? Question: as I put my car in drive and push on the gas, my car will make the sound as it should if it were actually moving, but doesn't at all even if I floor it. Then finally it will just jump and start driving normally. I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and yes my engine light is on. Even if I stop at a red light this will happen. Any info is appreciated.
