Was my truck a good buy or did I pay too much?

I recently bought my first truck. I bought a 2003 Ford Ranger 2wd 4cyl 2.3L with 111,000 miles on it for $2,900, he was asking 3k for it but was able to talk him down a bill. I bought it from a mechanic, who had made some repairs on it after his customer had ran it into a fence. I did run a carfax on the truck before I said yes and it did confirm the 1 wreck. It seems so far to
be a decent lil truck. A couple people have told me I paid too much for it and others have said it was a fair price and a goof buy but what do you all think?

Ford ranger with projector headlights?

I just bought a 2002 ford ranger for work and I was looking to install new headlight (projector) but I can only seem to find ones with halos around them. Can the halos be turned off? They are over played and cheesy lol.

1995 ford ranger cluster problem?

Is it better to replace or rebuild my motor?

Its a 1994 ford ranger xlt with a 3.0 V6 with the A4LD trans and 2WD. It has 273,000 miles on it (bought it with 123000 in 2004) it is my baby and has outlasted many other cars. It is leaking transmission fluid into the oil pan somehow and I had to stop a leak at the timing cover. I don't want to get rid of it but need options. Other than above problems everything else is fixable myself but if necessary I can remove the engine and rebuild it myself. Also replacing engine would be a used motor from a running car/truck with much lower miles. Any help would be appreciated.

2001 Ford Ranger rough start and sputters out?

Lot o' miles. One day i went to move it after it sat for maybe 2 days. When I came out about 20 minutes later, it had trouble starting. It was cranking, not catching, or it it did it would die. Got it started, ran it for maybe 20, everything acts ok again. A while later it sat for about 4 days. Started with the same trouble. Died when i tried to put it in gear. Today it started great, but then was like it wanted to die, especially at lower rpm (anything below 1000)

oil looks normal, doesn't seem to be smoking, no overheating
one day i went to check the radiator and fluid shot out when i took the cap off, making me think its a head gasket. But then i wonder why after sitting long enough to get cold why the pressure wouldn't have dissipated, gone through the overflow etc?

i went to the forums where someone said they had something similar happen and they replaced PVC elbow. I was wondering about sensors or something as i had a truck once that would stammer at lights because of that.

What are some good cars to make faster?

I want to build a car that no one would expect to be fast. Here are some cars I'm thinking about.

-2005 Ford Escape
-2006 Ford Freestar
-2000 Ford Ranger
-2003 Cadillac DeVille
-2003 Honda Pilot
-2007 Ford Taurus
-2006 Honda CR-V
-2000 Ford E150
-2000 Chevy Impala
-2005 Chevy Aveo
-1999 Chevy Blazer
-2002 GMC Safari
-2003 Ford Expedition
-2000 Lincoln Navigator

Which one would be a good car to make faster?

Can i sue? Sold me a car and lied on the craigslist ad?

So the story is, i got in a car accident and my vehicle was totalled so i got a check from the insurance agency for about 2000 dollars. I was looking for cars for about a week on craigslist looking for low mileage stick shift trucks. I find 3 ford rangers; 1 had 81,000 miles, one had 103,000 miles and the third had 106,00 miles. So i go to the seller with the ranger with 103k and i like how the car looks and drives and i decide to buy that one. I get home and look at the odometer and it didn't move since i had left the mans house. So i call the guy up and he said it had broken on him and he bought the truck at 92,000 miles. Which means he knew the truck did not have 103,000 miles and he told me knew that after i bought it? Is there anything i can do?

Possible engine swap from 3.0 to 4.0 on 1994 Ford Ranger XL 4x4 manual?

I'm wondering if I can drop a V6 4.0L engine straight into a V6 3.0L Ford Ranger XL? Both are 1994 ford rangers, everything the same as far as model/year just different size engine… And if not, what would need to be converted? I found a 4.0 for $250 with 0 miles so if its as simple as swapping engines/trannys I'm going to go for it… Thanks for help!

Clutch replacement manual 94 ford ranger xl 4x4 V6 3.0?

Recently bought new clutch, master, and slave from oreillys. I'm wondering if I have all parts needed to complete the job. I've been doing research and have read that transmission seals should also be replaced, as well as "freeze bolts"? Kit I bought includes,
-Alignment Tool
-Clutch Disc
-Grease Pack
-Hydraulic Line Tool
-Pilot Bushing/Bearing
-Pressure Plate
-Cover
master cylinder
-Push Rod
-Clutch Release Bearing and Slave Cylinder Assembly

If anything else is required as far as parts go please let me know as soon as possible!

86 Ford Ranger fuel pump problems?

I went to work one day and it drove good and I came back after to go home but it didn't fire up. It cracked but didn't start. After a lot of work me and my father are out of ideas we replaced the EEC power relay and the Fuel pump relay after doing some digging on the internet. We had to settle at jumping the fuel pump relay (yellow to orange/blue) to get it to run. I currently have it temperately fixed with a toggle switch jumping those wires. It works… Until I can figure this out. Any ideas on what may be the problem? I was thinking that maybe I got a bad relay from the parts store but I'm a novice mechanic so I thought I would ask here.
