What is a good first car? - 1

I'm 15 now and I have to buy my own first car. I've been saving up for a pretty long time, haha. My budget isn't very big, so I'm kinda limited to cars from 1999 and before. I actually prefer older cars, and am currently learning how to drive stick. I'm thinking about an older Toyota truck (Like an 80's Hilux, they're really popular where I live ), Honda Civic, or Ford Fiesta, but If possible I'd love to get an old VW camper, like a Westfalia or something. Are these good first cars? Thanks

Added (1). If possible, I could use my sister's old car, but it is an old Ford Ranger with no radio A/C… It's reliable and runs consistently but is a beater in all other aspects.

I have a 1998 Mazda B4000 pickup and the computer in it has gone bad and no replacement part is made any more?

Affected by this are the power windows, wipers and the 4 wheel drive. Don't care about the windows but wondering if there's way to re-wire the wipers and the 4 wheel drive to bypass the computer. The Mazda B4000 is really a Ford Ranger, checked with Ford for the computer and not made any more. Doesn't seem right that parts aren't available for this vehicle, so many cars and trucks are lasting longer now, you would think that they would stock parts. Does anyone have a suggestion as to whether the wipers/4wheel drive can bypass the computer. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me.

Estimate on how much insurance would be for a Subaru Impreza?

I'm male, 20 and have a spotless driving record. I'm looking for an estimate of what full coverage would cost at a top tier company aka State Farm, all-state, farmers. I already have a ford ranger with liability only and that's $140 a month at State Farm. My guess is around $300 a month, but I just want to see what others are paying. I don't know a year or anything for the vehicle. It would probably be 2008 or newer. Please don't tell me to call them to find out. I've done that before to try and price around and the only price I got was from my current company and the other ones never called me back. And no I didn't tell them I was shopping around. So if you have any info that could help, post it please.

1992 ford ranger tail light not working?

1992 ford ranger, the rear running lights don't come on when i turn the headlights on. They use the same bulb as the brakes and the turn signals but both of those works, there's no voltage coming through the wire that is for the running lights when the switch is on, however the license plate lights both have 12.18V coming through and they light up. Could it be the wire has frayed over time? If not what else could it be?

Clutch slipping on 94 ford ranger 4x4 v6 4.0 manual trann?

I recently bought a 94 ford ranger V6 4.0 4x4 manual, but the clutch is definitely slipping. I bought a new clutch set, master cylinder, slave cylinder, hydraulic release system, and upgraded clutch hydraulic line connection from Power Torque… Does anyone know all the tools I will need? As well as a step by step installation guide? I don't have $2,200(the lowest price in town) to spend taking it to a shop… Please help!

$360/month for car insurance?

I'm trying to finance my *first* vehicle, but between a $200/month car payment, and $360/month insurance, I doubt that I'll be able to afford it. The car payments I could handle, but the insurance seems a bit ridiculous, seeing as how I'm trying to get an 8 year old, 4 cylinder, manual transmission, Ford Ranger with 150k miles. Any ideas as to why my insurance is going to be so much?
I'm 21 and I've never had my own vehicle or my own insurance policy, nor have I ever been on anybody elses insurance. I've been driving my uncle's truck that has everything in his name, and just giving him $60/month for insurance. I have no tickets at all, or anything else against my record. My uncle only pays $130/month for two vehicles with full coverage, and he has multiple tickets against him.

Identify ford ranger transmission?

I'm getting mixed answers. I don't have the VIN available but have most info. 1998 ranger, automatic transmission, 3.0 v6 and the tag says 98gt eaa2. The door says transmission code T.
I was certain it is a 4r44e but after calling around the salvage yards for a replacement i was told i should have an a4ld, thus confusing me.

Cost of paint job on a pickup?

Just bought a '93 Ford Ranger and looking to paint it blue with white racing stripes. Looking for an estimate on costs.

What is the best car for me?

Hi, I'm a secondary teacher in the UK and am looking to take up property development in the next few months, if not weeks! So, I was wondering which car is best for me? I will be looking for something practical for my teaching (commuting, economy etc.) and also something that is practical for property development. Preferably something that is capable of pulling a large trailer around etc.

My choices:

- Audi A4 estate
- Ford Ranger
- Ford Focus ST
- Audi A4
- Ford Kuga

Any suggestions for something practical, affordable and stylish.

Looking to spend around £20k
