We have a truck that has been sitting for like 8-10 yrs. And my son wants it for his first truck. I looked in the engine and there has been mice making nest in it. It has tons of rocks and trash in it. But i don't see any wires chewed. It's a Ford Ranger Splash 94 with only 55,000 miles on it. Do you think it would be worth it to tow it to get running again?
Battery with full charge 12volt. I turn the ignition switch to start and it won't. Radio turns on, power Windows works. Engine won't crank
We have a 1996 Ford Ranger 2WD. For the past two weeks there has been a scrubbing sound while driving which intensifies when braking. We took it to a mechanic and they informed us that it needed new rotors and brake pads on the front, but we tried putting the replacement off for a week until we had the money. Today, I was pulling into my driveway and the brake pressure completely gave. I had to absolutely floor the brakes to get the truck to even slow down a little. I checked the brake fluid and it was completely empty (we just added brake fluid a few days ago). So, I added more. I attempted to let the truck idle for a minute while I tapped the brakes to see if the pressure would come back. Nothing. I then noticed a nice puddle of the recently added brake fluid under the truck and the tank empty yet again. Could the brake pads just have completely gone out which is causing this leakage or is it a possibility the brake lines are now involved or something else?
Added (1). Just to reiterate: the rotors and brake pads have NOT been replaced yet. I was just wondering if this could be because of that or if waiting so long to replace them has damaged something else.
So I was searching to buy my first vehicle for months. I got lots of opinions from various coworkers on what kind of truck I should get. I got answers ranging from "get a toyota, you won't regret it" to "Buy an s10 it's a good starter truck" all the way to "Whatever you do, don't get a ford".
After meeting a new coworker and him giving me a ride home regulary, I grew quite fond of his Ford Ranger. So much that I ended up buying a 2003 Ranger myself for $2,900. It has 111k on it but it's been a great lil truck, not a single problem to speak of. So does any of this Ford Chevy debate
hold any real merit and does it really matter? A car is a car is a car, right?
