Could be something as simple as a bad thermostat or low on cooling fluid or maybe a problem with the water pump.
Winter's coming. Get it fixed.
Make sure the thermostat is not stuck closed or open.Vehicle will never warm up properly if its stuck open. If stuck closed, engine would probably be overheating. He next thing I would do is remove the heater hoses from the heater core tubes at the firewall. After removal, use a hose pipe to flush out the heater core.Spray through the larger tube first then spray through the smaller tube last. If you begin to see rusty or dirty colored water coming out of the core tubes, that's a sign of a clogged or partially clogged heater core and that will definitely cause the heat to be non functional. If it is dirty, I would do a complete flush of the whole cooling system. If that's more than you wanna deal with, at least flush the heater hoses and/or pipes out that run from the water pump and thermostat housing up to the heater core tubes. If the heater core isn't clogged, the blend door fuse/relay should be checked. If its good, check to make sure the actuator is working ok. This part moves when you adjust temp
I would first flush your heater coil, if you don't know how look it up on youtube. If that doesn't work then it will get price, i've done this before and i was up and running in 30 minutes.
- Can i unplug my mass air flow sensor to get my cold air intake to work better on my 2015 ford taurus? When i put the cold air intake on my car it went really slow so if I unplug the sensor would it fix that problem
- Why is my 93 ford ranger 5 speed 3.0 heater now blowing out cold air? I have a 93 ford ranger. Last winter the heater worked descent. Blowing above warm air. Not as warm as my newer model car but it worked. The beginning of this winter it wasn't quite as warm as last year. Within 2-3 weeks its now blowing out cold air (defrost panel floor all vents). Last night at roughly 25-30 degrees I drove it approx. 10 miles occasionally turning heater/defrost on to try to defrost windshield some and upon returning home it sounded like boiling water under the hood.
- My ford ka blows out hot air even when the dial is placed on cold(the blue bit)? This has been happening for the last couple of days also the cigarette lighter stopped working at the same time
- I have a 2000 dodge caravan and the rear heat works great but the front heat blows cold? The blower motors all work fine, has new water pump and brand new coolant. The top vents in the dash blow lukewarm warm but if you switch it to defrost it comes out ice cold but the rear heat still blows super hot air. Coolant level is full. I've read about the blend door could that be the issue? Could a coolant line to the front dash be clogged? I'm a ford mechanic but kinda stumped and have never worked on a dodge.
