Can i unplug my mass air flow sensor to get my cold air intake to work better on my 2015 ford taurus?
When i put the cold air intake on my car it went really slow so if I unplug the sensor would it fix that problem
No. 1) cold air intakes are of nearly zero advantage for HP gain. Put it back to stock configuration. 2) There may have been an intake air temp sensor that you deleted. Put it back to stock. Cold air intakes look cool with all the fancy chrome pipes, but they don'y run good. You may have also gone to a K& N washable air filter. They are junk, also (let too big of dirt particle through, never get serviced properly, etc.). Want to go fast? Trade it in for an SHO.
This is exactly why you should never remove a factory cold air intake. NO, you can't disconnect the factory MAF.
- Why does my cold air intake make my car super slow? I bought a cold air intake for my 2015 ford taurus put it on and lost power alot of power. I didn't use the normal air intake tubing i stayed with the tubing that comes in the car and put a filter at the end and reconnected the one sensor. Now my friend did this to his car and it gave him more power i don't know why mine loses power
- How dangerous is water to a cold air intake? I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that I recently bought and it has pretty bad gas mileage and I'd like to fix that and the power behind the engine. Where I live we get pretty significant rain fall and some small puddles that you end up having to drive through. The last think I want to do is hydro lock my engine. Are heavy rain and small puddles actually a danger for hydro locking a CAI? Even if I were to buy one of the waterproof jackets?
- Bad fuel pump or bad Mass Airflow sensor? My truck us having very hard time starting up. It cranks over, putters and shakes really bad then dies. Once it finally becomes drivable, it almost stalls when accelerating from a stop or turning right Could this be a bad fuel pump, bad MAF, or another failing part? Truck is a 2006 ford ranger
- Should I get a cold air intake? I have a 2000 v6 ford mustang, I was wanting to know if it's worth it buying a cold air intake. I've heard from places that it's not Bc it really don't add HP or torque like they say. But others say it can add 10+. I can find some on eBay for like $40 or $50 so is it worth it?
