Was my truck a good buy or did I pay too much?

I recently bought my first truck. I bought a 2003 Ford Ranger 2wd 4cyl 2.3L with 111,000 miles on it for $2,900, he was asking 3k for it but was able to talk him down a bill. I bought it from a mechanic, who had made some repairs on it after his customer had ran it into a fence. I did run a carfax on the truck before I said yes and it did confirm the 1 wreck. It seems so far to
be a decent lil truck. A couple people have told me I paid too much for it and others have said it was a fair price and a goof buy but what do you all think?

Does it really matter to you - what are you going to do with the information?
The time to ask these question is before purchasing not after - after - just move on… But if you must know and you haven't checked use nada.com of kbb.com for some bit of reassurance (or heart break).

You actually got fair deal for private party sale (assuming it was fully repaired). Trade in value is around $3200. So $2900 is a decent deal.

I don't think that's a bad price at all for that truck with 111K miles if it runs pretty well. $2900 doesn't buy you much in today's used car market and you can do a lot worse than what you got for $2900.

I think it is a good buy.
