So I got my older brother's car and I've always wanted to built a drift car, but I don't know if the Ford Focus is a good place to start. Should I give it a try or should I sell it and buy something?
Will I be able to hook up subwoofers to a 2012 ford focus stock radio?
So I drive a 2014 Ford Focus. At the moment I can't financially trade it in on a new car so I plan to just deal with this car. I've started having engine and transmission problems suddenly and given my car is 3 years old and only has 32 thousand miles it isn't spelling ten years to me. I don't think I drive rough or anything. I frequent the highway and I'm frequently stuck in traffic. Occasionally I will drive it out of town to visit my family but that's it nothing too torturous. Anyone else have a older one and how it's run for you?
Car - 2006 m ford focus sport 1.8 tdci.
I bought the car at 126,000 miles, according to service book it was replaced at 95,000.
It was taken to a garage at 126,500 as was allegedly having the head gasket replaced, but it seems that they never replaced it, though they say the timing belt was also replaced I'm not so sure.
the car is now at 158,400 miles, I can see the timing belt through looking through the plastic cover (cover snapped a little) and I realized I can see the ribs/lines on the bel, just wondered if this is normal or not?
I can still see some writing on the belt as well so is that a good sign?
the timing belt on these are 125,000 but obviously getting it done sooner than that is wise, if it was not replaced at 126,000 then I know for sure it was at 95,000. That would mean 63,000 or 31,000 since it was last replaced.
so is it normal to see the ribs/lines through on a timing belt?
I went to a Break Max and they say I need or "recommend" a transmission flush ($70), power steering flush ($80), coolant flush ($80), and a break fluid flush ($90), fuel system cleaner ($150) Oh and that I should replace my radiator hose ($250) because it is the original hose. My car is a 08 ford focus manual transmisson with 95k miles. No problems at all. Do i really need these or ant of them?
My focus started slipping 3rd gear I would be driving around 30mph and out of nowhere it would like slip or disengage out of gear. After that reverse went out on day out of nowhere it would engage if I kicked the gas pedal but would make the car jump really bad. I had read somewhere it might be a solenoid and to take it to autozone to scan the car Any help thanks
I have a 2012 ford focus and the rear driver side tire loses air to the point where it's flat when driving at 70mph. The tire never did this before. One day I went on the freeway like I always do and was driving at 70mph, and suddenly I got a low tire pressure warning and about 15 minutes later I stopped at a gas station and the tire was flat. I filled it up with air and drove on it on normal streets (not the freeway) at about 45-55 mph and it didn't lose any air, the car is currently parked and it still hasn't lost any air since then. What could the problem be?
When you switch a ECU in a focus, obviously you have to have the new ECU re-keyed to work with your current keys/ignition. My question is, if you replace it with a junkyard ECU, do you have to reprogram it to match your cars VIN number(changing parameters back to your OEM specs) or can you keep the pulled ECU s VIN and parameters and just re-key? Assuming you grab a ECU from a focus with the same engine.
