2002 Ford Focus transmission problem?
My focus started slipping 3rd gear I would be driving around 30mph and out of nowhere it would like slip or disengage out of gear. After that reverse went out on day out of nowhere it would engage if I kicked the gas pedal but would make the car jump really bad. I had read somewhere it might be a solenoid and to take it to autozone to scan the car Any help thanks
Pouring money into a not very high quality car that's worth all of $1,000 when it works isn't really a good idea. Autozone won't be able to tell you anything with a scanner. Check the fluid level and look to see if it's clean.
Agree with Nomadd - car is 15 years old, and even if you managed to fix this problem, is most likely going to develop more problems soon.
Unless it is in really good condition and has relatively low miles, you are best off trading it in on something worth spending money on.
Don't bother dude. You need a rebuilt transmission.solenoids don't cause a tranny to slip. A bad ATF pump and fried clutch packs cause that.
- Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
- What's the problem with 2002 Ford Ranger? 2002 Ford Ranger XLT v6 I Close doors securely and start driving. After a few minutes the "door ajar' alarm starts going off but the door ajar light on the board doesn't light up. It does work because if I open the door, it lights up. I try closing the door again and make sure cap on gas tank is closed but door ajar alarm still goes off. It runs for a few mminutes while I'm driving. What's the problem here?
- Have a problem with my coolant fan on a 2002 Ford Focus 16v zetec? Recently bought this car, only has 119k miles on it. I noticed the temperature was going 3/4 of the gauge when I was going through a drive through one day. I always thought the coolant fan would come on if you turned on the cars AC, but mine does not come on at all. What should I be checking first? I checked the coolant fan fuse and it is fine. Any advice would be appreciated!
- 2002 Ford Focus ZX5 Transmission Warning Light? I have a 2002 ford focus ZX5. I was driving it and the transmission warning light came on, then my car died. It took 5 tries to turn my car back on. The light came back on, and my car died again. I was finally able to turn it back on and drove it straight home. I checked my transmission fluid and it's good, I checked to see if I needed to add more coolant and I didn't have to. What should I do? I want to be able to drive my car.
