Do I even need these car flushes?

I went to a Break Max and they say I need or "recommend" a transmission flush ($70), power steering flush ($80), coolant flush ($80), and a break fluid flush ($90), fuel system cleaner ($150) Oh and that I should replace my radiator hose ($250) because it is the original hose. My car is a 08 ford focus manual transmisson with 95k miles. No problems at all. Do i really need these or ant of them?

No. I doubt you need any of that stuff. Tell Break Max to go pound sand.

Take it somewhere else.

Run away with you wallet tightly grasped.

I doubt very seriously if an outfit called "Break Max" would get a lot of business. It sounds like a good place to avoid. $250 for a $25 radiator hose? You don't flush manual transmissions. You just change the fluid. It's called for at 105,000 miles for your Focus. There's not much chance you need your fuel system cleaned unless you've been using the world's cheapest gas the whole time. All that is is someone trying to charge you $150 to dump $10 worth of cleaner in the tank. A brake fluid flush would be a good idea, but these guys are crooks. I wouldn't let them clean the windshield.

Brake fluid*.

If you have never had any of those fluids replaced, then yes, you should flush all of them yourself because they are most likely overdue.

read your owners manual. I flush all those things about every 50,000 miles.

the only thing not needed at all is the "fuel system cleaner", you should change the fuel filter every 150k or so but it sounds like they want to pour a cheap additive into your gas tank and rob you out of 150 bucks.

if your radiator hose is fine, your radiator hose is fine.Mine has 200,000 miles and its fine (not ripped) that, again, is just them charging you money. You don't need to do that at all.

but in all seriousness it wouldnt hurt for you to spend $50 and an hour of your time doing a coolant and transmission fluid flush.

Brakes should be bled, not just flushed.Flushing them doesn't remove air and it doesn't get out all of the brake fluid.

3 of these are basic routine maintenance and if they have Never been done, they might be overdue

No, by just changing the oils is enough, it is a money making racket!

I would avoid any shop that maximizes Breaks. Sorry could not resist. I think you mean Brake Max.
What area are you in?
Unless you know if these flushes have been done, then they are all probably way past due, so I don't think they are doing anything except suggesting normal maintenance items. And the prices seem average.
Lets start with the radiator. Do a search on radiator hose for your car. I'm guessing there are 4 or 5 of them?
Are they replacing all of them? $250 is a lot for one hose, and would not really make sense since they all are old. So ask about that item.
Do the radiator flush.
Do the power steering flush. They need to do that right by disconnecting a line and hand turning the wheel lock to lock to get most of the fluid out. As opposed to draining fluid out of the reservoir and topping it off with fresh fluid. Beats doing nothing, but not a full flush.
Do the transmission flush. Again some people say never flush your transmission fluid, but the fluid does break down. And if they show you the old fluid you can see how dirty it is. Check your manual for any notes on this topic. You can do this next month or later if needed.
Fuel system flush. Pass on that. Unless they are putting fuel injector cleaner through a misting system through the air intake or fuel system. That is a true fuel injector cleaning. Putting a bottle of fuel system cleaning in gas tank is not worth 150. You can buy two bottles of Techron, when tank is 1/2 full put them both in, run car to close to E, then fill up.
Brake fluid flush. Over time brake fluid does absorb water which can cause poor braking and corrosion in the system. So a brake fluid flush is normally done when pads and rotors are changed, say every 40,000 miles.
The problem they are going to have is that the bleeder valves may be seized due to corrosion. So you need to ask about that. They can try to heat them up. Do a search on brake bleeder valve seized.

The owner's manual tells Ford's recommendations or requirements. If the radiator hose is soft or swollen, replace it and do not pay anybody $250 to do that. My gut tells me that Break Max is just out to break YOU. Brake lines routinely should be flushed every 2-3- years or what it says in your owner's manual. Our old '86 Corolla never needed any hoses replaced in the 23 years we had it, but that doesn't tell anything about Fords.

Go somewhere else. I can see replacing the upper radiator hose and coolant flush for under $100.00. A manual tranny should not need a flush unless you have been grinding the gears. The only time I would go for a brake system flush is when replacing wheel cylinders and changing fluids from dot 3 to dot 4.
