Not sure what you mean by that. It's an interference engine IIRC meaning if the timing chain breaks there will be significant damage. But since it has a timing chain and not a timing belt. The chances of the chain breaking is very low.
I think you mean an interference engine and yes it is.So if the cam belt is not changed then expect a lot of bent valves and other damage should the cam belt slip.
In the US two different engines were used.
The engines are pretty much the same (different strokes) and are high compression. This results in an interference engine.
On the plus side is the fact this engine uses a timing chain and not a belt. So that portion of the engine is pretty stable. I know of at least one Focus that has over 200000 miles on it and still has the original timing chain. So the issue of interference engine seldom affects service life.
- Why did Christine Blasey Ford have zero problem being interrogated by lawyers but William Barr refuse to allow it? Is it because she has nothing to hide and was telling the truth but Barr is a liar? There's evidence that Brat the Rat Kavanaugh lied about boofing and Devil's triangle but no evidence that Blasey Ford lied. Barr lied about not knowing why Mueller's staff expressed frustration about Barr's account of the Mueller Report when in fact he had received a letter from Mueller expressing dissatisfaction about Barr's account of Mueller's report.
- Why would all of a sudden the engine light come on 2007 ford focus? Drove the car about 2miles and parked it for a couple of hours and when I started it back up the engine light came on and didn't go out and it has never done that before and I checked the gas cap
- Ford focus TDCI 2007 won't start? I had a blowing injector on my focus and decided to replace the part. I followed my Haynes manual and managed to complete the job with ease. Issue is that I didn't disconnect the battery like it said. Now the issue is that the car won't start as I think the engine management is saying there's a fault on the fuel system. I don't know what to do now I've tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting so it re-starts the engine management system but it didn't work!
- Ford Focus - How much engine oil should my engine be using? I own a 2012 Ford Focus (Mark 3) 1.6 ti vct (petrol) with nearly 19 000 miles on the clock. How much engine oil (in mm) should this engine be using for how many miles of driving e.g. 500ml for 2000 miles of driving.
