Ford Focus - How much engine oil should my engine be using?
I own a 2012 Ford Focus (Mark 3) 1.6 ti vct (petrol) with nearly 19 000 miles on the clock.
How much engine oil (in mm) should this engine be using for how many miles of driving e.g. 500ml for 2000 miles of driving.
Almost none. Maybe 500ml between services.
In the uk we would expect to burn none between services…
Oil usage should be very close to zero.
1 qt per 1500 miles is Ford's current limit on acceptable oil consumption.
I had a 2000 focus that would use about.25qt in 10k miles (when I forgot to change the oil) and I did that occasionally (only used Castrol GTX) never used any oil between changes when I was doing it at 5k mile mark. Car was still going strong when I sold it with 147k miles - no oil consumption to speak of…
It should not be using any appreciable amount of oil. If it is check for leaks.
Should not use a drop.period
- Is it safe to tow using a 2013 ford focus? I will be driving across the country with a small trailer that will be filled with a bed, bed frame, and some boxes and I'm wondering if it is safe to use my 2013 Ford Focus SE (I still would have to get a hitch for it.)
- I need help using an Ipod with my Ford Focus? I have just bought a 9-yer-old Ford Focus. I would like to but a cheap Ipod so that I can play tracks from my iTunes in the car. The owners manual hints, (without actually saying), that only certain Ipods will be compatible with the car. Does that sound right? If it is not the case, can I but any functioning Ipod and reasonably expect it to work with the car?
- Ford focus c max filled up oil after a week dipstick shows no oil, no burning smell no weird noises no apparent leaks. Any ideas? Ford focus c max filled up oil after a week dipstick shows no oil, no burning smell no weird noises no apparent leaks… Any ideas?
