Ran Engine with Cracked Spark Plug. Ticking Now?

Okay I have a 99 Ford Explorer XLT, recently got some assistance doing a checkup and decided to pull out a spark plug to see what it looked like. Cleaned Mass Airflow sensor as well. (Got rid of po171&174 error codes by doing so) my father inlaw decided to drive and I rode shotgun. The engine was running like absolute crap at first. Now he lives on an acherage and we hit the rode at highway speeds with it bucking and kicking and there was a god aweful smell to which he thought was the MAF sensor adjusting the fuel air ratio. The engine did not over heat and stayed on average temp. But I noticed the CEL was blinking and to me it indicated the misfire. I hopped out at one point and looked under the suv and seen puffs of smoke+aweful smell of burning or something coming from the upper heat shield on my exhaust. I told him to hit the nearest part store so I could get more spark plugs. Now we drove it at higher speeds and even when it was misfiring he revved the heck out of it saying it did it last time he cleaned the MAF. (Bought it off him) … So we get back, pull the same plug again and noticed a hairline crack in the ceramic. Bingo. Replaced it. Misfire gone and smell eventually dissipated… Now there's a loud metallic ticking noise at idle (possibly at speed) that I never noticed before this.

Any thoughts on what could have been damaged through this ordeal? Should have left good enough alone. What could be damaged by over revving a misfiring engine?!

Could putting sugar in a gas tank make it not start?

I asked a question earlier about someone who stole something from my car because my car won't work and just the night before it was perfect. A few hours after I posted the question I decided to get a friend and we were checking everything out (I'm 16 and don't know much about cars) and discovered some SOB put sugar in the gas tank… So could that be the reason my Ford explorer won't work? I'm guessing I gotta have my grandpa who knows a lot about cars look at it tomorrow but he's going through some tough times so I don't wanna take up TOO much of his time.

Someone stole something from my car?

Someone stole something from like the bottom of my car so it's messed up and won't work but I don't know anything about cars I have a Ford explorer if I go somewhere and point will they know what got stolen? I'm 16 so will they let me get it replaced if they can? Or should I bring my grandpa? He knows about cars that's his favorite subject but he's depressed so I really don't want to bother him at all.

My car dies when in park?

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer with over 180k miles on it. I bought this car a year ago, and I haven't had any problems with it until now. Every time I put it in park it sounds like it going to cut off. Yesterday it finally cut off by itself. It starts up and runs average, however it is a little shaky while sitting at a traffic light. I'm not familiar at all with these kind of issues and would appreciate any suggestions as to what can be causing this.
