Someone stole something from my car?

Someone stole something from like the bottom of my car so it's messed up and won't work but I don't know anything about cars I have a Ford explorer if I go somewhere and point will they know what got stolen? I'm 16 so will they let me get it replaced if they can? Or should I bring my grandpa? He knows about cars that's his favorite subject but he's depressed so I really don't want to bother him at all.

Sas lots of people don't know anything about cars, that's why the stealerships, garages and lube shops make a killing. That being said, many mechanics don't know anything about cars either and we call them "parts changers" which means they change everything one at a time until the problem is fixed… That's why the people that don't know anything about cars get the huge bills

When you say its "messed up and won't work" I'm not sure if you mean it won't start/drive but if that's the case it might make it tough to go somewhere.

It is difficult to give you a good answer but if it's your grandpa's favorite thing it might give him something to keep his mind elsewhere for a bit.

At least he'll be busy with your car and won't be depressed. Just tell your grandpa if he can help you. Keep him busy.

More than likely your catalytic converter a lot of people steal them

#1. When things are stolen from a car you have to file a police report immediately or your comprehensive insurance will not pay the claim.

If you have no clue what was stolen, do you have some master-plan what to buy for parts. Take the car to a Ford Dealer. Do not let Midass touch your car.

Just take it to a shop like Midas and get it figure out and go from there, no need to get grandpa into it yet. They'll tell you for free and then go from there.

If you don't know anything about cars, why are you driving them.

  • I just bought a 1990 Ford Ranger and it is doing something weird? As stated in the title I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger today and it had recently gotten some parts replaced including: Fly Wheel, Starter, tires and some others. But the problem is, when I'm stop and accelerate the whole truck shakes and jiggles and I'm not exactly sure what it is? Any comments help. It's a Ford Ranger 1990 Automatic 4wd. Also, I'm not sure if this is normal on these old of cars but when on the freeway going about 65 that's red lining it.
  • I dropped something into my car's coolant reservoir? I have a 2008 ford mustang. Yesterday there was a coolant level low light on, so I went to my nearest dealership and picked up a gallon of coolant. While pouring the coolant into the reservoir, a piece of foil (the foil seal you break when you buy it) about the size of a quarter fell into my reservoir. After an hour of trying to fish it out and find it, I gave up. Today I tried again but the piece of foil was not there anymore. What should I do?
  • If i put bigger rims on my car will that somehow screw up something with the car? I have a 2002 Ford Explore XLT V6 engine. It currently has the original 15' rims but i wanted to upgrade them to a 24' chrome. I been told that it will screw up the bar that connects them the wheel and after a few months the top of the wheels will move inward and that would screw everything up. Is it true? I know that the speedometer would get messed and i would have to fix that so far.
  • How to give an idea for something to like Chevy or ford or something? I have an idea that I know would make a lot of money for them but I want to tell them, not anyone else about it, and should I try and patent it first?
