If timing belt breaks in ford explorer will truck still start with starting fluid?
What timing belt? The motor has a timing chain. Your car either has a plugged fuel filter, low fuel pressure or you need a new crankshaft position sensor which sends TIMED electrical impulses to the ignition coils to fire the spark plugs.
No. Ford Explorers have timing chains, not belts. And still "no"
The "Timing belt" (or chain) turns the cam shaft. If it is broken, the cam shaft won't turn, and the valves do not move. If the valves do not move, the engine will not start. EVER!
You can pump in all the starting fluid in the world, and your engine will not run. It may EXPLODE from all the ether you sprayed into it, but it will not run.
If the engine DOES actually run when you use starting fluid, then the problem is NOT the timing belt.
If a timing belt breaks ( regardless of which manufacturer built the engine ), the engine will not start because the intake and exhaust valves won't open and close when required.
Your explorer has a timing chain, not a belt! No it won, t start if the chain breaks regardless what you try! Don, t try to start it because it might bend the valves, if it has not already! The chain probably did not break, just slipped!
I wouldn't try it because once its broken and you keep trying to start it, it will ruin the whole engine… Replacing the engine costs a lot
Yeah but, it will most likely start only once.
- No fluid when bleeding breaks? 2004 Ford windstar van break caliper and master cylinder replaced just trying to help my mother in law out i don't know if who previously worked on it did something wrong or what everything looks good but when I go to bleed there's no fluid on the drivers rear or passenger front the other two bleed as normal any suggestions on what it could be?
- Car will not start, without starting fluid? I have a 2001 ford mustang that won't start unless i spray starting fluid into it, it starts up then but after spraying alot and dies out after a minute of it running or when i go to push on the gas pedal. It was flooded a little bit when the street was flooded if that has anything to do with it.
- Around how much does it cost to turn rear drum breaks to disc breaks? I've got a 2014 Ford Focus and would like to change the stock rear drum breaks to disk breaks I know it's possible just wondering how much would it cost and is it worth it?
