Around how much does it cost to turn rear drum breaks to disc breaks?
I've got a 2014 Ford Focus and would like to change the stock rear drum breaks to disk breaks I know it's possible just wondering how much would it cost and is it worth it?
About $500 for the kit, plus install.
Might as well upgrade the front as well (about $1,500 total) if you are racing hard enough to have to upgrade from rear drums, the front should also be addressed.
Unless this is your dedicated track car, it is a complete waste of money.

Maybe about $2000. The backing plate for drum brake shoes won't support disc brake calipers. You might be looking to replace the entire rear axle with one that has disc brakes if one is available to convert your car. Overall, it isn't worth it.
- How much should a rear main seal replacement cost? I have a 2000 ford ranger 4x4 with a 3.0l v6. The rear main seal is leaking, but here is the deal, it has a 3 inch body lift which makes it really easy to reach the transmission bolts vs the factory pull the motor method. So, what do you think it should cost… Ballpark answer?
- Ford ranger, 10 rear drum to disk conversion? How much work would it be too convert my rear drums to disks? I have a 99 ranger v6 4l. My drums are the 10". My where base is the bug one I'm pretty sure like 144" or 141". Where would I buy them? If I buy a kit do I have to always use the kit brand disks?
- How to undo bolts on Ford Galaxy 2003 Front & Rear brake caliper to renew disc's and pads? I need to renew the disc's and pads at the front and rear of Ford Galaxy 2003. I have the correct sockets and a large extension bar, but they will not budge (front or rear). I have tried WD40, thinking of trying a little heat, but its a bit near to the brake hoses. All suggestions gratefully received. I have a full workshop manual on this car issued by Ford which just says that they are tightened to 190Nm. The front bolts are huge 27mm and the rear bolts are 18mm.

Just spent a load of money on the back brakes on my car i bought new brake shoes new wheel cylinders and assemble it all back together used the auto adjuster by pressing foot on brake pedal and lifting the handbrake a few times and the back brake still arnt gripping properly advise much needed got mot in a few days
