I'm 16 and I've been looking for a car. In 2011, my dad bought a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD. He had it until the summer of 2012. I loved that car. I would like to buy one exactly like his old one. Is it a good car? I need the 4WD in the snow. It's the perfect size for me.
I can't find a true value on this truck at all any help.
4x4 not working and some rust under that's it
My passenger door will unlock when i press the unlock power button, but will not lock with it. Today my key will not turn driver side door lock at all. Key works properly in the other locks.

Why won't my 1996 or my 1995 Ford Explorer move in 2 wheel drive, but will in low range?
Whenever I go to look up a car on the EPA's fuel economy website, I'll often find cars that will say "Automatic (S6)" instead of "6-speed Automatic" or whatever. What does it mean?
Like, the 2013 Chevy Avalanche (which has a manual shift mode) just says "6-speed Automatic," but the 2014 Ford Explorer (which also has a manual shift mode) says "Automatic (S6)."
I'm renting a vehicle for my upcoming trip from Florida to New York. We need an SUV because we're carrying a lot of things. Hertz says I have a choice of a Chevy Equinox or a Ford Explorer. Which will be better for this long trip? Which should I pick?
I hit a curb in my 99 explorer. Only the front passenger tire hit. About a week later, I'm driving home and it's making a low pitched groan. Then the vehicle starts to swerve. I pull into a neighborhood, get out, check the tire, see nothing. Figure that's the que to stop putting off the needed alignment. Get back in, try to drive, but then the vehicle won't even move, the tire isn't rotating at all. I get out again, and then it's crooked, leaning inward. The brakes also shot at the same time (5 month old brakes). Any ideas what the problem could be? Besides a bad driver.
2000 Ford Explorer with 34K miles on it, driving at night on trip came upon a tractor trailer with no taillights that the trailer brakes had locked up on and didn't see it until I got up on it and swerved to the left and the vehicle fishtailed. It was dangerous enough coming up on the unlit trailer and then to fishtail in avoiding an accident is a bit much. Need to know what can cause the fishtailing. Is it a common occurrence with Ford
I want to buy a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited AWD but, they are still Really expensive. I wanted to buy on as my first car. I figured I would save up for it for the next 2 years until I graduate from high school. I graduate in 2016. Could I buy one in the summer of 2016 for around $15,000?
Added (1). I want it to show that I'm a whole lot faster than the junky Civic next to me at the light.
Added (2). The current price is in the mid $20,000s. How much should I expect to pay in 2016? Any websites I can use?
