So yesterday i was driving and accidently pulled out infront of someone and downshifted and hit my redline 6000 rpm and the truck drove normal after that for 10 miles. I got home turned it off and went inside. Later that night i went outside and started it and it started to miss really bad and idle rough. Once i get it past 2000 rpm it runs normal. 2001 Ford Ranger 2.3 I4
I'm looking around the net, but no luck. My dad is at Walmart trying to find the right one and needs it for his truck.
OK it will not start but it will crank and crank. The CEL (check engine light) is not on and no codes it has a new coil pack, new spark plug wires, new spark plugs and a new crank position sensor. It it's getting good spark and good fuel but will not fire up at all. Fuses and relays are all good. Anyone got any good ideas please help.
So I'm changing my transmission fluid this weekend and the refill chart for my truck (1991 Ford Ranger) says 9.7 Qt. I have an old power steering fluid bottle that's 1 quart so I can do 9 full bottles of that, but the 0.7 part is what kinda confuses me. How could I get that exact amount? What's the best way to go about doing that?
I'm a 23 year old male and for a career i'm a carpenter so I would like a car that is practical.
I'm thinking between a 2007-2012 Toyota hilux sr or sr5 4x4 diesel, ford ranger 2008-2012 diesel 4x4, 2008-2012 Nissan Navara 4x4 diesel or a Holden Ve ute ss or sv6.
I like the diesel 4x4 because I can take them out on the beach or 4x4 tracks but the Ve I can really only say I prefer that it has more guts and better interior.
What car would you pick and why? Also the pros and cons of these vehicles and is diesel really as good as everyone makes it out to be mileage wise?
I've got a 2005 Ford Ranger 2.3l RWD with an automatic transmission; how exactly am I supposed to check the transmission fluid (hot, cold, or in idle)? Also I have already check the manual couldn't find it and that's why I'm asking online.
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 engine. The truck needs a new transmission and I was wondering if a transmission from a 2002 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 will bolt up to the explorers.

So I had a low whining sound that would be slightly noticeable in first gear. But then I went to my mom's and had the truck sitting for 5 days, I live in Minnesota & the 10 inches of snow and cold hit. When I got home I started and moved it, seemed fine. Still a little high pitched whine. That night I had to work and the whining sound was louder thru 1st 2nd & 3rd. On my way home from work I shifted into 5th. (4Th gear had no whine sound) and noticed the 5th had a low whine sound. Was going about 75 when my truck made like shifting without clutch engaging and just shut off. I popped the hood and the belt and pulleys are all tight. Got back in and started. Now in idle there's a noise. 1St 2nd 3rd all are extremely loud whine/grind sound. 4Th has a low hum. Limped home in 4th gear. I can still shift into the first 4 gears( didn't try putting it in 5th) but there's that terribly loud sound. It was difficult to shift at first but was easier after a couple stop & go's. Got home and shut it off. Checked fluids & there good. Didn't check the tranny fluid because it was ******* cold and I didn't feel like getting under the truck to check. So I'm wondering what you would think it could be… & if it helps at all the sound started happening after my dad tied chains to my truck & to a tree to make it fall in a certain direction. And he said it sounded like low power steering for some reason that I forgot, but topped off PSteering fluid.
I filled it up and drove of when the gage read full, 10min later it reads empty, same thing happens when there's little to no gas in it. Is it a bad sending unit, fuse, or gage?
Hey guys i'm a 17 year old guy and i drive a black ford ranger. The ranger is rolling on 20 inch all black rims and the truck is all black itself. I wanted to put underglow on it and also some led's in the grill. My first choice was blue (i have blue led's on the interior of my truck) but blue and red is illegal in florida. What color should i make my grill and underglow? Something sort of manly please. If i put blue will i still get pulled over? The main thing i'm worried aout is the grill because thats what i really want to light up not too worried about the underglow please help me.
