Will a Ford Explorer transmission exchange for a ranger transmission?
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 engine. The truck needs a new transmission and I was wondering if a transmission from a 2002 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 will bolt up to the explorers.
Yes it will.
Explorer to Ranger shows no problem, so Ranger to Explorer shouldn't have any either.
Hollander shows a production date difference of March '02 I think, but I'm not sure what that would involve. Possibly nothing noticeable at all.
