My neighbor is selling his 1999 ford ranger 5 speed manual for 5300$. I think it's a decent truck for its Age besides a few dents and scrapes it runs and looks fine, and it has high mileage but it has a good engine and transmiton from what he tells me. However is it worth what he wants for it
I had to install a new fuel pump in a ford ranger.
the connector in his truck didn't match the new fuel pump so I had to cut the 2 wires leading to the pump (inside the gas tank) and solder on the new fuel pump connector, then i covered it with marine grade heat shrink.
is this adequate at all? Will it prevent any explosion?
is heat shrink adequate to protect soldered wires from gaoline inside the tank?
What cost the Ford ranger too lost power?
Is that bad for an old ford ranger? I heard starting to much can put pressure on your engine/starter. Is 4x ok?
I was driving and the engine cut out. Now it will not turn over. A friend and I replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and spark plug wires. There's combustion, but it still will not turn over and run. Any help?
I did a head gasket on a 1996 ford Ranger 2.3 torque sequence was 51 ft to 60 ft to 80 ft to last 90 ft I just did 2 51 and 90
I torqued the head 51 to 90 ft pounds and the sequence was 51 to 60 to 80 90 so I don't know if i should re torque head bolts or leave it? I'm afraid if i torque them again one will break what do you think paul?
Will i see trouble from that cylinder having higher compression then others?
000 miles and have never towed anything. The majority of the 171,000 miles are interstate driving. The truck shifts fine with no jerking or slippage. What I do get is thump(s) in rear end when I come to a stop, as gears are downshifting.
Do I need a new transmission? Any suggestions?
Added (1). I suppose it's a "clunk" I hear and feel when I come to a stop, not a thump.
