My 1994 Ford F150 4.9L L6 engine recently started having issues on the start. Every once in awhile(usually while it was hot outside), I would turn the key and just one loud tap/click. The tap kind of sounded like somebody tapped the body of the truck. Usually when this would happen, I'd wiggle the battery cables a little bit and the truck would start right up. Finally a few days ago it wouldn't start. Even after messing with the battery cables I had no luck. Left my truck and went to try it in the morning and started right up. Drove it home and now I have yet to be able to start it. I switched out the starter solenoid relay and no go. I have noticed lately that the voltmeter on the instrument cluster is very low at times. It has a brand new battery and even a jump start couldn't get it to start. My next step is to take out the starter and have it tested, but in my past experience, usually a jump start would get the starter going. If anyone with the same model truck has had this experience or if you have any good advice, it's greatly appreciated.
I want to renew my tags. I live in Illinois, and have no idea how much it'll cost.
Only the high beams on my headlights work i don't know if its a fuse or something else.
I have heard that year was the deadline and I heard it was the starting year and that some inspection places believe that 1984 doesn't need them and others believe it does.
I recently bought a 1998 F150 with custom 20" wheels and Falken 275/55/R20 tires. It came originally with 16" wheels and 255/70/R16 tires. The Ford door jamb data sticker calls for 29 psi front and 32 psi rear. Will the 20's run the same tire pressure as called out for the OEM tires? BTW, a change to 3.73 gears from the original 3.55 corrected the speedo and the sluggish performance.
I'm getting a 1999 ford f150 xlt 4.6L v8 triton and I want to lift it 4 inches suspension, and maybe an inch or so body. I don't have the time, nor mechanical skill to do it myself, so please don't mention a self install. How much would the kit cost, plus install and everything else I would need to make the vehicle reliable for a daily driver?
I drive a 1990 ford f150 5.8l with an automatic transmission. The transmission started making a noise when driving home today. Could it be the torque converter?
For the past couple years, my truck has been shaking when I drive between 40 and 45mph. It doesn't happen as much when I accelerate past that, but when I maintain in a 40 mph zone or slowly accelerate from that speed it's a little bit annoying.
My truck is a Ford F-150 V8 Automatic 1999 and has 230k miles. I've been in a tiny wreck once with it, but I'm sure it was going on before that.
I would bet money of all the vehicles sold in the USA that the f150 has the highest percentage of Caucasian male buyers than any other model. It actually seems that percentage is getting higher with newer models. So why do so many like ford? I noticed white males tend to buy more trucks than any other group but the f150 has the least diverse group of buyers, at least here in texas. Why doesn't ford appeal to other groups as much? Just my observation.
