First off I don't want any fanboys saying one is better just cause the brand, and secondly I know these are the 2 best Diesel engines so either way it's a win win. My dad has a 2000 F-350 with the original 7.3 engine. It's got about 250,000 miles on it, and it's been very reliable considering it's not taken care of at all aside from the oil and tires changes. Down the road I want to get a truck for myself, but I don't know which one I should I get. I know the 7.3 inside and out from it being in my entire life, but it's also a lot rarer than the 5.9. The 5.9 is easier to get my hands on, but I also don't know much about it. As far as the truck frames go I'd have to say the Ford's body is tougher from personal experience. From what I've heard the Dodge transmissions tend to be the worst between Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. I'd like to know your personal experience with one and/or both.
I'm trying to get my box truck up and going to move. It has been sitting for about 2 years since the last time we moved. When it was parked it got left with a little bit of gas in it and when we went to fire it up we had went to the gas station and got some new gas to put in it which we did. Went to go crank it and get it going and it sounds like it wants to start but can't. Took a little starter fluid to it and it wil start for a second and Then dies. Have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulater, the batterie is new I just don't know where else to turn or try any suggestions
I have a 1999 Ford F-350 super duty non- diesel. I just put in a new fuel pump thinking that was the cause as to why it won't start. I will go to crank it over as soon as my husband sprays starter fluid, it cranks over and tries to start and then
Stop as soon as it starts. The fuel pump did not help and my husband and I just don't have a clue what would keep it from starting. Any ideas?!
The battery is new, there's power to truck, new fuel pump, just put gas in the tank, but it has been sitting for about 1 -2 years.
It has a v8 engine and I was wondering if anyone that has this type of car know if it sucks up a lot of gas and is it a good car to have?
Looking at a 08 F250 4x4 6.4 Powerstroke diesel. It's got almost 180k. Looks to be well maintained.
Are the 6.4 motors any good? Is 180k too much?
