What's the problem with my car?

So I have a 2000 Ford Taurus SE with 221,679 miles on it. It has the Durance 3.0L V6 with DOHC. Recently I have been having an issue where it won't start. I can turn the key and the engine will continually crank with no firing. Eventually I can get it to start. I've noticed that everytime the extended crank happens that the fuel pump did not engage. But after turning the key once or twice I can hear the fuel pump engage and then it will start. I've had the fuel pressure tested and the results showed that the fuel pump was in working order, so that's not the culprit. I've had the fuel filter replaced recently as well. The check engine light is on but the code on it is an evaporative emission system leak. This code is the only one being stored and is unrelated to the issue I'm having. This code also has been there for a long time. The battery is also not the issue because the battery is only 2 years old and that the engine turns over without any problems.

Along with the extended crank, after I get it started the engine will randomly missfire. This sometimes occurs after I get it started from an extended crank. It feels like 3 of the cinlynders aren't firing when the random missfire occurs. After a few seconds the engine 'corrects' itself and runs normally. No missfiring, and I can turn it off and turn it back on. The ignition coils are not the culprit too because I have had two replaced as well as the other four being tested.

Truthfully I think this is an eletrical issue.

Added (1). Correction: I meant to say the Duratec 3.0L V6. Not Durance.

Added (2). Another bit of info I left out is that after I get it started, I can drive down the road as if there was no problems. It accelerates fine and it idles normally.

2000 Ford Taurus leaking transmission fluid and slipping gears?

Hi, so me and me friends did a muffler delete on a 2000 Ford Taurus SEL V6 with 76k miles. It sounded so sick that I kept flooring it on every street. Next thing I know I park it and it starts dripping a continuous stream of tranny fluid from the bottom. It slips gears really badly now. It doesn't make sense to blow a tranny in one session of driving hard so I don't think it has to do with wear on the transmission, what could the issue be? Cheapest way to fix it? When it's cold it isn't leaking or slipping just when it warms up it does

2003 Ford Taurus leaking passenger side by oil pan?

Oil pan gasket been changed 3 times because I thought that was the problem.still dripping the smallest bit of oil. No puddle because exhaust is right under drip so there's a smell from time to time. But I can see oil on the bottom of car by oil pan. Timing cover gasket was replaced, head gaskets been replaced. What else could be causing the leak? Shop says it HAS to be the oil pan even no there no visible damage to it. They re going to charge me 250$ for have it replaced.before I make the decision I need opinions since I've already put too much money into it already. Still need to drive for 2 years. Small oil leak worth the money to fix?

Has anyone noticed that luxury cars look more and more like regular cars, and vice versa?

I mean back in the eighties and nineties, it was not hard to spot a luxury car… They were very, very different then your average commuter car. A Rolls-Royce or a jaguar look nothing like a Ford Taurus. But now, in this decade, it seems like that Gap has narrowed… To an untrained eye like mine, honestly, Hyundai, Toyota, A lexus, and a Bentley all look pretty much the same at a distance from the outside… Especially in Black, they all look kind of like the same Sleek, shiny thing. Anyone else notice that?

Sub has no highs but play lows nice?

So I had my 500 watt alpine amp with Rockford punch 12" in my hyndai with a head unit and it hit the highs and lows perfect. Now I transferred the same sub and amp to my Ford Taurus only using a converter so I can play it off my stock radio. The lows hit so nicely but there's like no highs at all.what's up with that?

Puddles on passenger floorboard?

My wife has a 2000 Ford Taurus. Months ago we got some work done to the heater core. Now the passenger side of the car is leaking and theirs puddles that show up on the floor. I'm guessing it has something to do with the heater core. What could the macanic have done wrong in order for this to happen. I'm just looking to be well informed before I go back to where the work was done and tell them they screwed up…

98 Ford Taurus SE Accelerates by itself, what's wrong?

I have a 98 Ford Taurus SE with 20,000 miles on it. I've only put 9,000 miles on it, but the entire time I've owned it it has had an acceleration issue.
Pretty much the car will crawl up to 40mph flat land without pushing on the gas. The car does not idle high or low. It seems to be in perfect mechanical condition, and should be due to low mileage. Before I purchased the car was stored for years very well, all fluids removed and set on jacks stands heated indoor storage.
when I'm driving 60 on the freeway, the car can keep a constant speed. I have driven 10 miles on the freeway without touching the gas pedal. The gas petal feels fine, no issues from what I can tell. The cruise control works fine, and I'm certain it has nothing to do with the issue.
Any ideas? I haven't done anything other than a full tuneup.

Installing a head unit in Ford Taurus?

So I know you have to buy the kit to put your own head unit in the Taurus. My question is since I have the one with the 6 disc cd changer do I have to buy a more expensive kit even tho I'm not gna use the cd changer anymore? Also going to wire the car up for amp and sub to be later installed since the head unit will be out already.

Permanently Disable Seatbelt Alarm on 2007 Ford taurus?

Before you jump on me for not wearing a seatbelt, let me explain:
My alarm is short circuiting somewhere and I'm not sure where. When it is raining/even just moisture in the air, my car seatbelt alarm goes off while I'm wearing it. Anyone who has heard a ford alarm would know how annoying this can get. Also, yes I realize this is a bigger issue, etc, but i don't need a lecture on safety, in the meantime I just need the loud ringing to stop. I'm not trying to beat the system, I have had siblings lives saved by seatbelts and know their importance, this is just too loud of a ringing to concentrate.

I do know the trick with the key in "on position," 9 clicks, etc. Etc. But this does not work at all with the moisture. Is there a fuse to pull, wire to pull, anything that will make it permanently stop?

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus. For about a year, I've been having issues with the acceleration?

It randomly stays accelerated, even after I've stopped pressing the gas. It used to stop on its own after a few seconds, but starting 2 weeks ago, it got stuck and just never stops accelerating. I then started using it only on the streets, avoiding freeways because it seemed to be worse after taking a freeway, but it still stayed at about 1K RPMs, even at red lights. I'd have to push the brakes all the way down to stop it from going. Whenever I'd put it in Park, it revved up even higher, and sometimes up to 2-3K RPMs. Whenever it did that, I'd pull over and turn off my car, wait about 20 minutes, and it'd be back to normal.

Today, it got even worse. I absolutely had no choice to take the freeway, and it was a huge mistake. It stayed at around 2RPMs after I exited the freeway, and I had to pull over. When I put it in Park, it got even worse. It stayed at about 4K RPMs and almost got to 5K before it started overheating, then I turned the car off. After waiting 20 minutes, it still stayed accelerated. I waited another hour, it still stayed accelerated. I had to leave my car parked on that street and Uber home.

I did research, it seems to be a common problem with Ford Taurus's, and someone suggested to replace the Idle Air Control Valve. On the same thread, a guy said he unplugged the Idle Air Control Valve's computer cable and he was able to drive home. I did it, and voila. It now turns off when Idle but it doesn't accelerate anymore. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?
