2003 Ford Taurus leaking passenger side by oil pan?
Oil pan gasket been changed 3 times because I thought that was the problem.still dripping the smallest bit of oil. No puddle because exhaust is right under drip so there's a smell from time to time. But I can see oil on the bottom of car by oil pan. Timing cover gasket was replaced, head gaskets been replaced. What else could be causing the leak? Shop says it HAS to be the oil pan even no there no visible damage to it. They re going to charge me 250$ for have it replaced.before I make the decision I need opinions since I've already put too much money into it already. Still need to drive for 2 years. Small oil leak worth the money to fix?
Valve cover gaskets and oil pressure switches are common problems.
This time when you take the car in for repair just tell them it has a oil leak and don't tell them what you want changed, you might find they will find the leak and fix it one time. Not like the three times you told them to change the pan gasket.
- My buddy has a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that is leaking oil from rear passenger wheel. Any ideas on why? The brake cover is not pushed all the way against the hub. There's a half inch gap between them. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. So it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing?
- Does the oil pan have to be removed to change the rear main seal on a ford 3.0L V6 in a 2000 ford ranger? I have the engine removed from the truck and was swaping in a salvaged engine that all checks out good except for a slight leaking rear main seal. So, after inspecting the rear main seal, it appears as though a could just slide it out and a new one in. Does the oil pan need to be removed? Or can I just carefully remove the old seal and clean the surfaces good and install a new one?
- 2000 ford ranger 3.0 4x4 oil pan gasket replacement? What's it take to change? Step by step guide would be helpful. Personal tricks of the trade. What specific tools I need. Can I drop the pan enough to clean off old gasket and slide new one in? Evening day or all day or weekend project.
- 2008 Ford Mustang - The passenger side under the dashboard recently leaked I took it to a Firestone recently and they said I had to take it to the dealer or to Ford directly. Called Ford and they said it would be $130 just to even look at it. The dealership I bought the car from is closed for good now. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to fix this yourself rather than having it fixed? The passenger side leaks everytime it rains but it rained heavy the other day and now the carpet is flooded.
