What's the purpose of the ignition coil condenser?

I have a 1988 F-150 with a 351W V8. Engine came out of a 1995 Ford E-150. Its an electronic ignition system with one ignition coil, a distributor (no points), and a TFI Module, etc. Mounted next to the ignition coil is a can shaped condenser/capacitor that has a wire going to the igntion coil plug. What purpose does that condenser serve? What would the symptoms be if this went bad? If any. What does it do? I've heard and read several different things and I can't seem to find anything related to a system that doesn't have a points distributor. Mine doesn't have points, so why do I have a condenser?

Why does only 1 of my power door locks work?

I still have the 1988 Ford F150 truck and i finally got it running right so now i'm wondering about the driver's side door lock, you can't even push the lock button down and lock it manually and of course the power button doesn't lock it either but the passenger side door lock works fine. I had to have the hinges adjusted several years ago and the door has been slightly hard to shut ever since and i'm wondering if something rattled loose on the actuator to prevent it from working but that still doesn't explain why i can't push it down and lock it manually or lock it with the key because i can do either with the passenger side lock, just looking for some possibilities on here before i ask someone about it in person because it's so hard to get anybody to do anything, thanks

2008 Ford F150 XL v6 manual transmission issue

Any idea why when I accelerate in 1st gear my truck will "nose down" with loss of power almost like I down shifted from 5th to 3rd? I've pulled out several times and the truck almis the comes to a complete stop until I shift into 2nd.
