Why does only 1 of my power door locks work?

I still have the 1988 Ford F150 truck and i finally got it running right so now i'm wondering about the driver's side door lock, you can't even push the lock button down and lock it manually and of course the power button doesn't lock it either but the passenger side door lock works fine. I had to have the hinges adjusted several years ago and the door has been slightly hard to shut ever since and i'm wondering if something rattled loose on the actuator to prevent it from working but that still doesn't explain why i can't push it down and lock it manually or lock it with the key because i can do either with the passenger side lock, just looking for some possibilities on here before i ask someone about it in person because it's so hard to get anybody to do anything, thanks

Hi simple that old dog of thing wear. Small pieces of metal rubbing against one another and so over time they don't work any longer.

You will have to take the door panel off to see what's going on in there.

Replace the drivers door lock mechanism and adjust the sticker plate on the body.

The one that don't work be busted.

Try WD40 on the mechanical linkages. Everybody remembers to oil everything else but forget that doorlocks are also mechanical. They never get the lube. Got none since 1988 so I would say the metal components are dry.

Relay in that door has failed.

If it won't manually lock, the physical mechanism needs attention. As Dontchaknow suggested. It could be as simple as lubricating the mechanism. It is also possible the mechanism is sufficiently rusted that it will need replaced. Either way, the first step is to open the door panel and visually inspect the mechanism.
