2008 Ford F150 XL v6 manual transmission issue

Any idea why when I accelerate in 1st gear my truck will "nose down" with loss of power almost like I down shifted from 5th to 3rd? I've pulled out several times and the truck almis the comes to a complete stop until I shift into 2nd.

Without knowing the transmission in your truck it is impossible to be sure but is this a "Granny gear? 1st? Some have a very low ratio first gear, and you only need to start out in 1st when loaded or under other stress

Try starting in 2nd and if that works you know that the first gear is a granny

Nothing wrong with the truck. Just shift quickly.

  • Can you get a 2015 ford mustang and Chevy camaro in automatic transmission instead of manual transmission? Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2015 ford mustang or Chevy camaro. Both of the cars come in manual transmission! Is it possible to get it in automatic transmission instead? Can I just ask the dealer (dealership) to give me the car with automatic transmission or do I have to change it myself?
  • Higher RPM and transmission issue - ford car? Hi i have this higher rpm at start in my 10year old ford card… Where my rpm raises to 3000 at the time of start. i now have a transmission problem and that requires rebuilt. is ther a relation between this higher rppm at start issue and eventually failure in transmission,. could the higher rpm issue might have caused the transmission failure.
  • 2012 Ford Fusion SE transmission issue? A while back I started driving from a complete stop and my car wouldn't shift to a higher gear. I pulled over, made sure I was in drive not low, put the car in neutral and attempted to drive again. It drove and shifted however the car seems to have less power and shifts later than before this happened. Any idea why this happened, and/or if I need to have a repair done and what that repair would be? The car has almost 87,000 miles.
  • 2004-2008 Ford F150 vs 2004-2008 Dodge Ram 1500? I have been wanting to know which of these two trucks should I get? I watch videos on them but as I read the comments the controversy between the people are just left and right, "dodge is better, ford is better" but they never give an explanation why. So which truck is more reliable and why?
