Ford explorer 2000 model auto 4.0l slipping/ clunking noise coming from front end?

Does anyone know what this could be i have a 2000 model ford explorer 4.0l xlt 4x4 auto when going up hills there a sort of squealing /clunking noise coming from the front doesn't do it all the time just manily going up hills or when i use a heavy foot its not the auto slipping the revs don't change or doesn't free rev when it does it. My thoughts are that the front drive shaft is worn but could anyone help me out it also could be a belt pulley cause it sounds similar.

Did my mechanic screw up my car?

I recently had a transmission replaced in my Ford Explorer ( for a total of $3500 including warranty). Soon afterwards I noticed that my car was grinding and did not want to go in reverse. I was told that the reman transmission which was installed in the vehicle had a metal contamination and a clutch height stack problem which caused the clutch plates to fuse together. The mechanic replaced the transmission at no cost due to the warranty, however I was told that I now need an entirely new front brake system, shocks and a new drive shaft. Could the bad reman have caused these massive issues? ( I was quoted with $8000 to repair all of the stuff wrong with my car)?

What can I use as substitute taillights?

97 Ford Explorer. The cable that attaches to my headlight switch from my dash has a broken wire. Thus I have no tail light/running lights (headlamps still come on, though) Replacement part is in on back order, what can I use as taillights to keep me legal? Still need to get around at night for work…

Dads explorer in my name?

My dad just bought a 2005 ford explorer, he is currently getting a devorce, and he is scared that his wife will get it he paid 7000 for it, his lawyer said they only way she can get it is if he signs the title over to someone else. So he asked me to put the title in my name, for the duration of his devorce. My question is, does this make me liable for anything, or are there any cons to this?
