How does a trade in vehicle work if you want to do that after a accident?

Got my 2016 ford explorer on January 12 2017. Was in a no fault accident on the 9th of February (other driver no insurance or license).(the cost of accident damage was around 3000-5000 maybe more)… My truck is at the dealer where i got it from gettn fixed since Monday. I called the guy that sold it to me yesterday and told him that my intensions was to trade it in after a year of having it to get an updated one, but since there was accident i'm skepticle about it, that it would be hard to trade. Since they have it now, i want to trade it in for a different one. How does it work?

When to stop putting money in a car?

I have 2007 Ford Explorer with 90k miles. I took it in to a dealer 1 month ago because it was squeaking and they replaced the serpentine belt and tensioners for $350. It was squeaking again yesterday so I took it in and they said they have to replace the harmonic damper for $800. Now they call and say they found a leak in the radiator so that will be another $700 to replace.

I don't know what to do… I feel like they will just tell me I need something else in a month. At what point should I stop putting money in a car?
