How does a trade in vehicle work if you want to do that after a accident?

Got my 2016 ford explorer on January 12 2017. Was in a no fault accident on the 9th of February (other driver no insurance or license).(the cost of accident damage was around 3000-5000 maybe more)… My truck is at the dealer where i got it from gettn fixed since Monday. I called the guy that sold it to me yesterday and told him that my intensions was to trade it in after a year of having it to get an updated one, but since there was accident i'm skepticle about it, that it would be hard to trade. Since they have it now, i want to trade it in for a different one. How does it work?

No, depending on the damage incurred, and how well it was repaired by the dealer using factory parts, which is the ONLY reason it should be repaired by the dealer, there should be no loss to you. Keep All your documentation regarding everything that happened so that people can see what happened and see that the vehicle is as good as new after repair. Take pictures and get the damaged parts if you can!
