How to work my Ford Escape Titanium 2013?

I'm going to a drive-in movie theater for the first time but my question is:

1. My radio turns off if the car is off, even if it is on but the engine isn't on it will turn off after five minutes or so. How do I keep it from doing this?

2. How do I turn the lights off in my car if the trunk is open?

I have a Ford Escape Titanium 2013 model. Any ideas?

2 adults, 1 teen, 3 cars - is $190/mo good?

We're ages 46, 40 and 17 with a Chevy pickup (2008), and 2 Ford Escapes (2002 and 2008). There's just minimum coverage on the Escapes and full coverage on the truck. Credit is fair, living in Texas.

I called an insurance company to get a quote when we added my son's car to our policy. When I gave her the details she said that there was no point in giving me a quote because if our insurance is really "just $190/month" that she couldnt get any lower and chances are that someone somewhere messed up and we should stick with it.

I'm curious what others in our situation are paying to compare. Thanks!

Added (1). Well Entidtil, I don't want all those companies dinging our credit reports as we're trying to get a house. I don't see any problem with coming here asking others what they pay to just compare.

When refering to cars what is a body?

For example i have just started the unit were we start to learn what a car really is. I'm doing my car on the 2004 Ford escape could someone tell me what the body is of this car. And possibly be so kind as to explain or give a simple example as to what it means. I have googled it so many times!

How to prove I didn't pull the filter off?

My roommates won a 2002 Ford Escape 3.0 L from a dealership a week ago Sunday. After the contest, they inspected it (apparently they had just bought it themselves for the giveaway) and called on Wednesday saying it was ready for them to pick up.

When she got there the dealer revealed that it needed an additional $4000 of work within a few months (brakes, tires, and windshield, among several other smaller things). She didn't take the vehicle then, so her husband could talk to the manager about the repairs, which they refused to cover.

I was going to buy it from them, so after discussions, we decided to take it anyway, planning to get the repairs done cheaper elsewhere. We finally got it home on Friday, and I drove it to a friend's place a short distance out of town. On the way there I noticed a soft "pfff, pfff, pfff" sound similar to an exhaust leak. On the way back, the sound got significantly louder, and then the engine rattled and blew up. Total distance driven from the dealer: 59 Km (36 mi).

Before we towed it back to the dealer we discovered that there was no oil in it and the filter was missing. There was no oil spray anywhere, so we suspect the dealer drained the oil and forgot the new oil and/or filter. Since there was already some friction over the needed repairs, they have already suggested that we blew the engine intentionally, and they may not cover anything.

Is there any way to prove that the engine was dry when we got it?

Added (1). Forgot to mention, there were no warning lights at all until I was pulling off the highway when it blew.

Added (2). Thanks Donna, I have submitted the story to that site.

What should I do about squeaky brakes?

I have a 2008 Ford Escape XLS with 71,000. I have never had issues with the car and it has been serviced every 3 months. Also, every 6 months I have a complete auto inspection. A little over a year ago I had new brakes or installed in the front at Firestone. Since the brakes were replaced the squeak whenever I come to a complete stop. I was took the car back to the shop and they told me it's normal and not to worry about it. The problem is, it may be ok, but it irritates me. I heard that since it's Firestone they may have used really cheap brakes. At this point, I don't want to deal with Firestone and will do anything to stop the squeaking even if they means replace all the brakes and pads with expensive brakes. Please help me and let me know what brakes I should buy and or what I can do. Thus far I have been to Firestone 4 times to complain about the brakes, each time they say they are good.

Radio suddenly stopped working in our Ford Escape?

We have a 2009 Ford Escape XLT. All of a sudden today, the radio will not turn on. It was working perfectly fine last night when we were listening to the satellite radio while driving home, but today the radio suddenly won't turn on at all. The display still shows the outside temperature, but it no longer displays the time and, like I said, the radio won't turn on at all, except it did come on for a very split second while we were driving, but then it went right back out again. Any ideas? Is this some sort of an electrical issue? We've had this Escape for about 2 years and it's never done this before. The only thing I can think of is that I was cleaning/vacuuming it out yesterday afternoon and shampooing the carpets since they were dirty from a long winter, so I had the doors open for quite a while, but I've done this before and it's never caused a problem and the radio worked fine last night.

Sunroof opened wet car

Okay so I have a 2014 ford escape and my dumbass left the sunroof opened before I realized this it poured pretty good, So my question is what's the best way to get the water out? My floor is covered with Weather tech floor mats so they are dry, my seats are soaked and it's only the front two seats. I'm more worried about the electronics obviously there's a lot of controls they didn't get drenched in water and my sunroof closed okay but does anyone know if they will stop working or if they might be okay? I don't think much water actually got on the more splashing up there! I need some advice to clean it!
