2 adults, 1 teen, 3 cars - is $190/mo good?

We're ages 46, 40 and 17 with a Chevy pickup (2008), and 2 Ford Escapes (2002 and 2008). There's just minimum coverage on the Escapes and full coverage on the truck. Credit is fair, living in Texas.

I called an insurance company to get a quote when we added my son's car to our policy. When I gave her the details she said that there was no point in giving me a quote because if our insurance is really "just $190/month" that she couldnt get any lower and chances are that someone somewhere messed up and we should stick with it.

I'm curious what others in our situation are paying to compare. Thanks!

Added (1). Well Entidtil, I don't want all those companies dinging our credit reports as we're trying to get a house. I don't see any problem with coming here asking others what they pay to just compare.

For the family good price. I pay 78 a month for two of us and two rigs. We're in our 50, s

What someone else pays for insurance has absolutely nothing in the wide world to do with what you may pay for insurance. The *ONLY* way you can ever know if you are getting a decent rate is to shop around and get several quotes from as many insurance companies as you can stand.

Thats a very good price. I pay 180$ a months for 3 adults and 2 cars, one full coverage and 1 minimum coverage.

  • What's the best car for a new teen driver? I'm going to be getting my first car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of car would be best for a 16 year old girl! I'm not too picky on the model and I just wanted to know what would be best, most affordable choice for me right now.
  • Is this a good car for a teen? I'm an 18 year old male and I currently have an old truck. It has issues that are too expensive to repair. It also uses way too much gas. I really don't need a full-size medium duty truck. I've been looking for something else. I will prpbably spend $800-$1500. I found a 1993 Ford Taurus Station Wagon for $1200. It's in perfect shape and has only 80,000 miles. I really like this car. Would this be a good car? I prefer older cars.
  • Best kind of car for teen? Right now i have a 2000 ford taurus and it has gotten so much work into it everything is brand new but i'm getting tired of fixing it. I was thinking of buying a pontiac g6. But i was wondering if there are any other cars that are better for around $4000
  • Small SUV for teen driver? I'm only 15 now, but my mom told me I should start researching cars and SUVs. We have agreed on Nissan Rouges, Subaru Foresters, and Toyota RAV4s (possibly Honda CRVs) NO OLDER THAN 2009… My mom drives a Subaru and really wants me to get the Forester. The problem is, Foresters are more expensive than any of the others. They are all about the same size, same mpg. What would you recommend of the four? Which is the best for a new driver? Any other suggestions? (No ford, Chevy, jeep, etc.)
