Is this a good car for a teen?

I'm an 18 year old male and I currently have an old truck. It has issues that are too expensive to repair. It also uses way too much gas. I really don't need a full-size medium duty truck. I've been looking for something else. I will prpbably spend $800-$1500. I found a 1993 Ford Taurus Station Wagon for $1200. It's in perfect shape and has only 80,000 miles. I really like this car. Would this be a good car?

Added (1). I prefer older cars.

That's low miles for that price. I would get it before someone else does.

Spend a bit more and get something thats not a total **** heap.

Wow that is really ahrd

Ford Taurus are abundant and cheep for a reason

You will get many other options in the same price.

There's NO Way that a 23 year old Ford Taurus is going to be in "perfect" shape unless the seller can provide impeccable maintenance records. Even with low miles that car is really old. You better have the car inspected by a certified mechanic before you buy it.

As far as a Taurus wagon goes. It's a fine car. I owned one. Be careful with the transmission, they tend to be weak and they fail. But as far as a nice ride. The large, heavy wagon is a good car to drive and wagons are hip in a weird sort of way. Also make sure the engine isn't the small 3.0 V6. It was also a weak point. If it has the 3.8 V6 you should be OK.

Sounds fine.

The older Ford Taurus' were very reliable. If this one is in "PERFECT" condition it should be a great buy for $1200.

  • What's the best car for a new teen driver? I'm going to be getting my first car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of car would be best for a 16 year old girl! I'm not too picky on the model and I just wanted to know what would be best, most affordable choice for me right now.
  • Best kind of car for teen? Right now i have a 2000 ford taurus and it has gotten so much work into it everything is brand new but i'm getting tired of fixing it. I was thinking of buying a pontiac g6. But i was wondering if there are any other cars that are better for around $4000
  • Small SUV for teen driver? I'm only 15 now, but my mom told me I should start researching cars and SUVs. We have agreed on Nissan Rouges, Subaru Foresters, and Toyota RAV4s (possibly Honda CRVs) NO OLDER THAN 2009… My mom drives a Subaru and really wants me to get the Forester. The problem is, Foresters are more expensive than any of the others. They are all about the same size, same mpg. What would you recommend of the four? Which is the best for a new driver? Any other suggestions? (No ford, Chevy, jeep, etc.)
  • Nice cars for teen around 7,000 or lower? Fairly large cars, preferred brands, jeep, ford, hummer, ram, manly cars lol. Please give me your suggestions. And for date wise nothing below 2009.
