(Selling a car) What would you do in this situation?

I have a 99 ford ranger extended cab 4 door that is up for sale for $3500. I had it checked last month for any discrepancies and they rotated tires, etc. The only current issue is a 6th cylinder misfire. The car is spotless… No rust even. I had multiple people interested in the car, but were wary of the shaking due to the misfire so they passed. This older lady contacted me yesterday asking if I would let her mechanic check it out before committing. That sounded like a sound idea so I brought it, the mechanic drove it, and came back and said it" 'misses' otherwise in top shape. I will need to see what the issue" the woman asked "how much will that cost?" mechanic said "I… Depends on how long it takes to find the issue and what it is, could be the valve worst case, but that is highly unlikely.a signal issue, or a fuel injector issue" woman says "well how much to check any of those" mechanic says "I can't tell you, it depends, could be $200 or more, or less" lady says "okay, $200. Not $250 or $275" (she looks at me) "want to go down to $3000 and we can split the diagnosis cost?" I said "sounds fair" so we shook on it.

I dropped off the car this morning to get it looked and a few hours later, I got a random msg from the lady asking why I wasn't at the mechanics (?) I said "I dropped off the car this morning, I'm at work till 8 and haven't gotten a call yet" she says "they finished fixing it"… Why did she get a call before me? And why did they just go ahead and FIX it?

Added (1). Apparently she called a ton till they budged. She told me "well, I figured since I want the car, and the car was already there, may as well fix it" so SHE gave THEM the go ahead since she was going to be buying it anyway.

I called the mechanic and he was already sick of it and I hadn't even called him before! He told me it was not DONE yet, but found it needed a 6th cylinder fuel injector piece and that was the problem, He said it would be ready tomorrow morning and he would call.

Added (2). He said it would be around $360.

I msged the lady and said it'd be $360 so she told me that since it was more than the $200 the mechanic 'promised', that I should down the price to compensate. She tried $2500 and said she would pay the $360 fee. I said "uh, no" and she was like "please. I can't do $3000… But but what about $2800? Right in the middle" and started getting all upset about a loan she is desperately having trouble getting cause someone stole her purse last month and blah blah.

Added (3). Now that it was fixed and in tip-top I feel like I'm in a quandary cause she is using the price of the fix as a bargaining chip against the price I had the vehicle at with a issue, now that it is all fixed I can easily get 5k for it. Only problem is I DON'T HAVE $360, nor did I agree to this stupid fix at this ma-and-pa shop. I agreed to it being diagnosed, for her piece of mind.

Added (4). From what I understand it is illegal for them to perform maintenance on it without written consent above $50 in the state of Iowa, not to mention the fact they took the consent from the woman who doesn't even own it.

What would you do in this situation (selling a car) what do I do?

I have a 99 ford ranger extended cab 4 door that is up for sale on FB for $3500. I had it checked last month for any discrepancies and they fixed everything, rotated ties, etc. Car has never been in a accident and has been maintained on time. The only current issue is a 6th cylinder misfire issue. The car is spotless… No rust even. I had multiple people interested in the car, but were wary of the shaking due to the misfire so they never got back to me. This older lady contacted me yesterday asking me if I would let her mechanic check it out before committing. That sounded like a smart idea (if I were a buyer). So I brought it, the mechanic drove it around, and came back and said it 'misses', otherwise in top shape. The woman askes" well how much to fix?" he said "well, depends what is wrong. Maybe electrical, maybe the valve. But I don't think it is a valve" and the lady kept asking how much it would cost just to get a diagnosis… NOT to get it fixed and he was being vague and said "could be $200, could be more or less" so she started doing math in her head and took "$200" to heart and said to me "will you go down to 3000 and I pay the bill for the diagnosis?" I thought that was a decent deal I guess and she was interested.

Added (1). I gave my keys to the guy this morning to get it looked at and now, today, I got a random message from the lady asking why I wasn't at the mechanics. I said "I dropped off the car this morning, I'm at work till 8 and haven't gotten a call yet" she goes "well they finished fixing it"… Why did she get a call before me? And why did they just go ahead and fix it?

Added (2). Apparently she called over and over again till they budged and told me "well I figured since the car was already there, may as well fix it too" so SHE gave THEM the go ahead saying she was going to be buying it soon anyway.

Added (3). I called the guys and they were already sick of talking about the car and I hadn't even called them before! They told me it was not "done" yet, but they found it needed a 6th cylinder fuel injector piece and that was the issue, he wouldn't tell me the price it would be but said it would be ready tomorrow morning and he would call then.said I would be around $360.

Added (4). I messaged the lady after and said it would be $360 so she did more math and asked if she could have it for $2500 if she pays the $360 fee. I said no and she was like "please. For $2800? I can't go higher since it was more than a $200 fix" and started ranting about a loan she is desperately having trouble getting already cause someone stole her purse last month and blah blah.

Added (5). I don't even know what to do… For 1. I didn't want to go under 3k FOR THE CONDITION IT 'WAS' IN. Now that it was fixed and in tip-top for 300-400 I feel like I'm in a quandry, and jipped quandry cause she is using the price of the fix as a bargaining chip. And I don't have the money to pay for the fix even if I wanted to try and sell if for the going rate for the truck fixed up… Which is around 5k.

What do I do?

Ford ranger gear shifter problem?

I recently shifter into park in my 2000 Ford ranger 3.0 v6 and I heard something break so now the shifter will shift gears without stepping on the brake. Everything still works fine but I can just pull down on the shifter and it will shift instead of stepping on the brake and then shifting. Can't seem to find anything about this so any help on what is wrong is appreciated

94 Ford Ranger running rough has a hard time accelerating engine light keeps coming on and going off

It starts up just fine has a little bit of a rough idle. When accelerating it's struggling to gain speed feels like it's going in and out of power like when I first accelerate it struggles and then about half way through it'll speed up if that makes any sense. Not sure what it is I've done some research some people suggest it's could be the MAF sensor or a fuel filter. I just replace the clutch master and slave cylinders which consisted of pulling transmission out before the slave / throw out bearing went out the truck had no acceleration problems has anyone had this problem I don't have a lot of money to just go by parts hoping it's the right one any suggestions would be appreciated thank you

Why does my 1995 Ford Ranger not start?

We have a 1995 Ford Ranger that will not start. A brand new starter was put in. The charge on the battery is good. A new ignition starter was put in. New battery cables. However, when the ignition is turned on there's on a one click noise. Any ideas?
