1998 Ford F150 with occasional Starting issue

Hi guys/gals! I'm currently having a starting problem with my 1998 Ford F150 4.2L. My truck will start perfectly fine at times, and then once in awhile I will turn the key and all I get is a CLICK. But then if I usually wait a few minutes, the truck will start. But I want to get this problem solved.

So far I:
1) Put a brand new battery in
2) Put a brand new starter relay in (firewall)
3) Cleaned the battery terminals and connectors, as well as all the connections going to the starter relay.
4) Tightened up the truck shifter, as I heard sometimes a loose shifter can cause problems with the truck starting due to the truck thinking it's in gear instead of in neutral or park during a truck start.

Two years ago I put in a brand new starter/starter solenoid, so I'm thinking that that starter and it's solenoid should be ok. But at this point, maybe I should look to that as being a possible problem as well, even though it's fairly new.

Also, if there was a good way I could test the neutral safety switch and ignition switch I will try that as well. The problem is its hard to test all these components when the problem doesn't always occur.

Also when I put the voltmeter across the ignition wire going to the starter relay all I got was like 3.5 volts. But I'm wondering if that is the correct voltage when the key is in the run position, but wasn't actually being cranked at the time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are some things I can do to my truck that are cheap?

Replaced alternator and still won't charge ford f150?

Recently all dash and running lights have been pulsing and then all of a sudden it stopped and started draining the battery. I replaced alternator and it still won't charge. When I start the truck the volts at the battery stay the same no matter what rpm and its around 12.4 volts. Battery light DOES illuminate on dash. I've checked ohm resistance on harness. The battery is about 3 months old. The alternator is 1 day old. What am I doing wrong here? There's no fuse for it a far as I can tell. The fuseable link wire is in tact. Please help. This is driving me crazy. 1990 ford f150 5.0

Added (1). has no power under load, often dies at idle, surges under low rpm at low speeds (15-40 mph), seems to have full power when floored unless like i said under load. Replaced plugs, wires and distributor cap, the problem persists.

1986 ford f150 windshield wiper problems?

I have a 1986 Ford F140 XLT and wy windshield wiper will turn on, work for a few swipes then turn off then back on then turn off about half way then start again. And once it starts to turn off and back on again it take a long time for it to wipe the whole windshield. I was told that it wasn't the switch otherwise they wouldn t turn on at all. And I replaced the motor and the black box under the dash. I use a lot of Rain-X in the mean time.

Line X on my F150 two tone?

I have a Maroon ford f150 two tone. The two tone color right now is a kind of greyish tan. But I was thinking about getting some Line X bedline spray and put it on the two tone all the way around. I have a black tool box, black rims, black tail light holdings, and would change the 4x4 sticker to black to match everything. Would the Line X two tone look good?
