Ford F-150 or Chevy Silverado?
I'm for Fords Reliability and Strength. On the other hand, I'm for Chevy's Look and Appeal. What do you like better?
I like both. I sold a GMC 4X4 to buy my 2011 Ford Ecoboost though. It's been a great truck. I'm fixing to buy another one. The new Chevy is a nice looking truck though.
I test drove both. There are pluses and minuses to both but ultimately I went with the F-150. The main reason was that the Chevy seats didn't fit me right. I found the seat portion to be to short. I had a Jeep with a similar "problem" and it made my knees hurt. Wasn't going to have that happen when buying a pickup. I'm on my second F150 (had a 2011, now have a 2014). Both excellent vehicles.
IMO Chevy's are reliable. Fords… Not so much. Ford's look better and personally appeal to me more cause they're tougher(so in the end you get more done), but Chevys are good to. Had a Silverado which was ok. Interior are junk though, and their rockers rust easily. I know a few people with F150s(same year as my Chevy) and they have all sorts of mechanical issues that my Chevy didn't.
But my favorite pickup is the Toyota Tacoma. I think 1500s are too big to drive around and I seldom put use of it's full bed capacity. Tacomas are a perfect size, bullet proof reliable, and hold their value much better than any domestic truck.
Chevy
Are you talking about NEW vehicles? If so, I'd opt for that new Ford, aluminum alloy body.a.k.a. No rust!
I have an old Ford, just turned 381,000 miles. I replaced the engine 3 weeks ago and the trans has been rebuilt once, back in April 2014. I like Chevy's, also, but my old Ford is a workhorse!
Chevy Silverado
Check out the Motor Trend Truck of the Year. The 2015 Chevy Colorado. I saw a video review on it and i would buy one if I was in the market for a new truck. Not full size but does the job. The aluminum body on the new F-150's have nothing to do with rust. Ever see what sea water does to aluminum? The aluminum body is for weight reduction. Lest curb weight allows for more cargo weight. Besides, all modern vehicles with steel bodies have been anodized for corrosion resistance.
You asked this question in a Chevy forum? Interesting. IMHO there are only two kinds of trucks in the world… Chevrolet and all the rest. 'Nuff said.
Ford
Ford F-150. I've owned one for 10 year and now considering to buy 2015 model. The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.
- What truck should I get? SS silverado, Ram Rt, or ford lighting? I want a truck but which one should I get the ss comes with a 6.0 it's fast. The ram comes with a 5.7 hemi. The lighting comes with a 5.3. If you were me which one would you get. I don't care about horse power right now. So pick
- Why do my ford keys work in 01 Silverado and not the 04? They came out of a ford, but they look like ford ranger keys. I don't understand why they work on my friends 01 Silverado and not my 04?
- How long will a chevy silverado last? Trading in my ford ranger to many problems and issues. Anyways I'm looking at some used silverados they all have over 10000 miles on them. Are they built like toyota tundra and tacoma where they will last forever. In the 90s my mom owned a chevy caviler and a chevy mini van both had the transmission blow quickly and they leaked oil all over the place. Are the trucks like this are they good trucks
- Which should I consider 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 or 1998 Ford f150? I'm wanting to trade my car in for one of the 2 but which will give me less trouble to keep maintained
