Hi I'm looking for a used car to a long distance. From NJ to south Florida, 1200 miles,18hrs. I need a used car that will reliably get me there. I use msn auto under reliability and car complaints.com to see what are good cars. I found a 2000 ford explorer with 140k miles which has good reviews for that particular year. I'm ok with the low mpg for $2200. I also found a 99 camry with 113k miles for $2700. What do you recommend? Or do you have any other suggestions? I'm looking in the year range of 97-2005 and price range $2000-4000. Please give year make and model.
I had this problem about a month ago. I pulled into a bakery, came out and my car wouldn't start. It would not crank or start just click. I had it towed to my house. I replaced the ignition switch cleaned the cables that attach to the battery, had the battery and starter checked and they all worked. I put everything back together and it suddenly started working again. Today I drove it to get inspected and it wouldn't start or crank just a click noise. I drive a 2007 ford explorer with 150,000 miles. Any ideas?
I was thinking of buying a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT for my first car. It will be 2016 when I go to college. I feel like my car would be too old and people will judge me. How old are the cars college students usually have?
*I know that nobody on Y/A can really have an accurate answer, just ballpark it and give your own experiences*
I have an 01 Explorer on my policy with progressive, $950 for a 6-month term. I'm a 19 Y/O male living in Tampa FL. I'm planning on buying a 1987 Ford E-250 Econoline van from my uncle, how much would it cost to add this to my policy.
BTW: My insurance is 950 now, but I just saved 22% with snapshot, so it will go down by over 200 dollars.
Thank you
Added (1). **I will not call the insurance company or tell them I have the van until I'm ready to insure it. They scam you that way and force you to insure it with florida law, like they forced my mom to pay 200 extra dollars a month when I was 16 to insure me on her policy.**
I know it needs a new battery which is the first thing i will do
