My 2000 ford explorer has sat outside in illinois for 16 months what should i do to get it running?
I know it needs a new battery which is the first thing i will do
Drain the fuel tank and replace the fuel filter, add new fuel. Change the oil and start it up. The engine tune will be the same as when you parked it. Your battery may charge up and be fine, if it won't hold a decent charge then replace it.
RETIRED ASE MASTER TECH.
trans fluid might be a good idea… But then coolant and transfer case and differentials are as well.
Give it a tune Up. This means replace spark plugs, Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Drain Gas and Fuel lines, New battery, replace oil and oil filter, drain and replace transmission fluid.
- My question is about storing a car outside in the winter for a few months? I live in northern Minnesota but I always go south for the winter for about 3 or 4 months. I've got a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with a hundred and thirty-five thousand miles. I'm planning on leaving it in a friend's backyard for the winter. Is there any precautions I can take in order for the vehicle to not be dead upon my return. I heard turning it on and letting it run once a week will help?
- I have to get a car running that has been sitting for 17 years? I have to get a 79 Ford Mustang with a in-line 4 running so it can be moved out of a parking garage that it has been parked in. Obviously it will need some fresh gas, any ford enthusiast have any tips to offer?
- Isn't it likely the reason Senator Dianne Feinstein sat on the information she got from Dr Ford instead of immediately turning it over to? The Chairman of the Judicial Committee like she should have is that there wasn't much of a case and realized when the Judicial Committee had the information investigated they would likely find nothing instead by sitting on the information till the end it could help to get some of the RINO's to vote against confirmation
- My vehicle had sat for 4 monthst it is a Ford Focus 2000 SE? When I tried starting it nothing then The battery wouldn't hold a charge and I would here clicking when trying to start. What could be the issue I was either thing battery or starter any ideas?
