What's a good, cheap pickup truck for me?

I'll be getting a truck soon, and I don't know what's best for me. I only have $6,500 to spend on whatever I get, and I was looking into a 2002-2005 Ford Ranger and a 2003ish Ford F150. Which is better overall? I'm 16 and work at a Village Inn, so I don't make much money and will be paying for my own gas. I'd like it to be an extended cab with 4 doors and at least 2 seats in the back, which is partly why I like the f150, because it has bench seats in the back.

Based on factors like MPG, how easy the truck is to handle, bells and whistles, etc., which truck is better for me, or do you have any other options that might also work?

P.S.-- The truck has to have no more than 110k miles on it already.

Power window problems with my 2000 ford ranger?

I have a 2000 ford ranger xlt with power windows. I downloaded a wiring schematic and got to work checking things out. I found the 20 amp power distribution fuse blow and replaced it and still no good. So, I pulled off the door handle and panel and checked the power wire (blue wire with black strip)… It was hot on both the master switch and the passenger side switch… Now here is the head scratcher. I tested the wires going into the window motor…2 wires. When I pushed the button for up or down, both wires were hot… Why? Is it the switch bad? It should be 1 hot and the other one ground and vise versa for down… Not both hot. Also, since the window motors can be hot wired with a crude battery jumper wire and ground wire, then I know the window motors are good. So, Is it the switches? It almost has to be right? Also, both wires on the window motor are dead until a button is pushed… That means it is in the switch.right?

Also, complete separate question… The catalytic convertor has been cut open and rewelded… If the guts were stripped out of it, would that make the bank 2 upstream O2 sensor read haywire? The code is p1151… It would wouldn't it? If so, can I bypass this problem somehow, or do I have to replace the cat?

What's wrong with my Ford Ranger?

1990 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6 4x4 Automatic. Happened overnight. One day it was running amazing, the next not so much. Symptoms:
* Won't go past 55 mph
* Delayed shifting
* Loud sound as if air is escaping while accelerating
Beyond that the truck still drives great. No smoking, overheating, nothing else at all.

What to do with a Ford ranger xlt 4x4?

I'm going to be getting either a 99 or 2000 Ford ranger xlt 4x4 v6 or 4 cylinder, my question is, what can I do to make it look awesome? Or more fun to drive? Both are red and both are manuals! Also, are these trucks fun to drive? Oh, and they are both extended cabs! And the 2000 is the v6! And which would you recommend?

How to make a Mazda protege or Ford ranger look sick?

I'm planning on getting either a 99 Ford ranger xlt extended cab(red) or an 02 Mazda protege lx(black)! And me being the ignorant highschooler that I'm, I want to make it look/sound amazing and not so family friendly lol! What can I do to either of them? Any suggestions are welcome!

Which vehicle is cooler for a high-schooler to have?

So I know this is kind of a stupid question, but which would be cooler for me to get (or just the better option), a 99 Ford ranger xlt extended cab 4wd (red) or an 02 Mazda protégé lx (black)? It's my first real car that I'm paying for, I had a 97 vw cabrio convertible that I got from my brother and crashed… Also, which one would be more fun to drive? They are both manuals (automatics are boring…)

How hard to drive is a 2002 Ford Ranger extended Cab?

So I'm 16 years old and thinking about getting a 2002 or 2003 Ford Ranger Extended Cab pickup. How hard is it to drive? Will it be okay for a new driver like me? I'm a pretty good driver, but I have only driven a 2003 acura TL and a 2014 Nissan Rogue, both pretty good cars when it comes to how well it can maneuver.
How hard would it be to do basic things such as park, make a right turn, come to a quick stop, etc?

How accurate is kelly blue book?

I have a 2000 ford ranger step side 4x4 with a 3.0L V6. It is mechanically sound and drives great, has a 3 inch body lift and oversized offroad tires, but the bad part is that it has a really rough interior and has 183000 miles on the body… The engine I just installed only had around 120000 and runs great. Anyways, kbb suggested a private party value of a little more than 3100 bucks, but I'm just not sure if this is a reasonable suggestion. I was thinking around 2500. However, I seen several on craigslist with more problems mechanically than mine fore around 4000 or more! Would people really care if the interior was a little rough? Its small things like dome cover missing and the center console lid is broken and the cruise control buttons are broken off. It has an aftermarket radio though that looks and works great… Anyways, what should I price it for? Should I follow the kbb value or go less? Or more?
