I'm 17 going off to college soon, something that always bothered me, why do car companies like gm and ford donate cars to companies for employee cars, which the workers can usually afford their own, but not give cars to students about to attended collage who need a new car but are getting loans galore for an Ivy League school as it is? I really really need a new car for travel, but I can't afford one, and ire just depressing to see rich people get company cars donated by ford gm or Chrysler every few years. (The cars are given to the people not owned by the company I know somone who gets one)
I'm thinking about getting a Ford Excursion Powerstroke diesel. I read somewhere that they can get up to 18 mpg city. Is this really true?
Added (1). I forgot about fuel economy factors such as driving habits and weather. Can it really get mid-upper teens in the city?

I'm 16 and I'm looking to buy a car. I want a 2003 Ford Excursion Limited 4X4 with the Powerstroke diesel. The size doesn't bother me a bit. I like the looks and height of it. Is it a good first car? There's no way I'm riding around in some little hatchback shoebox.
Added (1). I found out that the diesel gets 18 mpg city.
Added (2). An Excursion seats 8. I just want the covered cargo spce when the third row seat is out and the second row folded flat.
Added (3). What blind spots? The only one I can think of is the spare tire integrated into the wall.
I'm currently 17 yrs old, almost a senior. I'm working in the summer in construction so I'll be saving up for a down payment. I will be paying the car note and insurance every month on my own. I was interested in the 350z but will be too expensive to maintain. I decided to go with a Mitsubishi Lancer ES and black it out, but I would like a car that looks mean and still has a little more power on it than the ES. I would get a Subaru but there's none available in my area. Also don't want a new year car because I most likely won't afford it. So if anyone knows any car that looks aggressive and has good amount of power and worth modding if i was too I would appreciate it.

* keyless remote fails to unlock the electronic "smartlock' system i.e press unlock doors button car flashes but no doors unlock.

I live in a town home complex and I parked in the visitors parking lot for a couple of hours and my neighbor decided to take out his black monster truck and tow my car himself. Is that legal? The truck is a typical black ford monster truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It just doesn't seem right, can any civilian use their truck as a towing service?
I have a 1998 ford contour (2 liter engine) with a really bad oil leak. I go through two 946 ml bottles a week.
Odd because it only leaks only when i start up my engine, oil leaks from the back of engine (kind of hard to explain where because i don't have proper jacks to lift up car for me to examine)
I have a timing belt that needs to be replaced, can that be why? If not does anyone have any suggestions of what it may be? Once again oil leaks lots when i start up my engine. Usually a lot when engine is not started for hours. Leak is starting to get worse!
