How to identify a Ford tractor?

The serial number is un-readable. It is re-painted to look like an 8N and has a front bumper. It is only 3 speeds forward. The throttle linkage is a horizontal shaft running from the steering box to a mount on the head and then goes down to the governor. The oil bath air cleaner is missing. There's a filler plug in the hood like where an air intake was mounted. It has been converted to 12V. The distributor is mounted on the front of the engine. There's no embossed FORD on the side of the hood. I don't know much about old tractors unless they are red or green.

What type of leak is this? (pic included)?

I think it is the transmission fluid (which i use for the power steering)

What type of leak is this pic included

today i put paper on my driveway, parked the car on it, then a few hours later i took my car back to run errands… When i came back home, before parking, i checked the white papers and took that photo.

is it possible i can identify the source of this? (i.e. Is it power steering pump, loosened hoses, etc)

i have a 14 year old ford sedan by the way

Why would people buy older foreign cars instead of brand new American cars?

I see it all the time, people driving 7-8 year old Mercedes or BMWs that they paid probably paid around $20,000.

They could of easily gone out and bought a brand new Ford or Dodge, but they didn't. They bought a Mercedes with over 100k miles. All worn and torn on the inside. But aslong as they're shining on the outside I guess.

Which engine should I get in this truck?

I'm thinking about buying a 2000-03 Ford Excursion 4X4. There are 3 engine options.

-Powerstroke 7.3L (Diesel)
-5.4L V8 (Gas)
-6.8L V10 (Gas)

Which one should I go for? I know I'm not going to get 45 mpg but, which one is the most fuel efficient?

Added (1). I KNOW I'M NOT GOING TO GET 45 MPG BUT, WHICH ONE IS THE MOST FUEL EFFICIENT?

Can you read this now?

Added (2). I'm guessing the 22MPG is highway mpg. What will it likely get in the city?

Added (3). Someone told me that in the winter the diesel has to be plugged in so the fuel doesn't gel.
