A/c stopped working after changing out alternator
Ok, so I need a good truck for my first car/truck. I've driven a ford before, but I've never driven a ram. I need a truck that is good on road and off-road. I'm gonna be on the road most of the time, but during the summer I'll be off-road more because of my summer job. I want a truck that looks nice, sounds nice, and can go really fast. I wanna get my truck raised at least 2 feet off the ground. I won't be towing anything. I'll just be driving to school with it and go off-roading. I don't know which truck is better at all this, but please help!
Ok, so I'm looking for a truck to drive to school with. I live in Oklahoma. And my house is in the country. I need a truck that I can drive on the road most of the time with, and go off-road with it if necessary. The truck needs to be fast too. And I like the ford raptor, but the gas mileage is really bad. I can afford to put gas in my truck, but I also like the ram because it's got better gas mileage, looks nice, and sounds nice. The raptor has these features as well, but I wanna raise my truck too.
This guys selling a 94 ford f-150 xlt, it has 215,000 miles and it has the 5.8L windsor. The guy is asking 1500 for it but it has a few issues, one of the issue is that it needs a new transmission solenoid (which he says costs 40 for the part & 40 to install) another issue would be that the engine won't run off the fuel in the tank (he says it has bad fuel in the lines and it needs to be purged in order for it to work again) because the truck had been sitting for 5 years. The man managed to start it with starter fuel by squirting it into the intake & and it ran good for a couple seconds, so i know the engine starts up. Other things it needs is a new battery (he tried starting with a not so good battery) and a new tire as the one can't hold air too long. And it has Colorado plates ( he originally bought it in California) so it has what it needs for smog. Overall its how a truck would look sitting for 5 years, it has no dents (but might need a new paint because paint is peeling a bit). The interior is in good condition, no cracks on the dash but a tear in the corner of the seat, overall the truck looks pretty straight. But with the fuel problem it has me a bit worried. What could it be thats not keeping the truck working? Bad fuel pump? Bad fuel? Or maybe the battery was not good enough to pump fuel? And how much would it cost to check and fix the fuel system?
From what I know, it's a part of the engine (I think! I'm very new to cars, so bear with me.) I was given advice to check the distributor cap/rotor on my truck (which I know what to look for) but I'm not sure exactly where to find it (if it even has one. Some don't, right?) I have a '92 Ford F150 XLT Supercab with a 351 5.8 V8 engine, photo attached. I would love pictures, youtube videos, Every possible detail. Just assume I know absolutely NOTHING about cars and start from there. Thank you!
Does anyone know how to put in a shift tube on a 94 ford f150? I can't find any instructions online?
My 2010 Ford F150 started blowing out hot air when the Max A/C was on so I had it checked out & there was a HUGE leak down the front of the A/C Condeser. So I had it replaced with a new one & it blows out "cool" air when its 75-80 degrees out. When it is anything above that it blows out hot air still. It also makes loud blowing noise from underneath the hood when the compressor kicks on. What do you think the problem is? Is it possible that the mechanic added too much freon?
I'm 16 and I would like to buy a car. I need it to be safe. Also, it has to be able to make it through snow. Here's the cars I like.
1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD
2002 Lincoln Navigator 4WD
2004 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD
2004 Ford F150 Lariat 4WD
2007 Lincoln Mark LT 4WD
Which one should I get and why?
I know with enough work, anything is possible. But I'm wondering how much work would be required and just how possible it is. Has anyone ever tried anything similar? Or seen any information they could link me to? I know there will be the obvious, modifying an old dash/interior panels to fit correctly, but how hard would the duct work for the ac be? What options would I have as far as replacing the existing factory steering wheel? Just how much fabrication would it take? Any ideas or suggestions on where I could find a little more info? I like my truck, I like the body style, I can't stand the exceedingly bland, plastic, monotone interior. This idea is not everyone's cup of tea, but an idea worth looking into just out of curiosity.
